Chapter 20
Epilogue
Shi Chuan met Ming Zhao for the first time.
It was among countless others, listening to her entrance speech from the audience.
She was beautiful, outstanding.
Quiet like a shallow stream.
So shallow, yet it still gave the illusion of drowning.
She was different from them.
From the moment she entered school, she was a prominent figure on campus.
From participating in various activities to winning numerous awards, she almost became a regular feature on public accounts and the school website.
Photos without any beautification or filters did not diminish her natural beauty in the slightest.
Such a person, yet she never carried any arrogance of being favored by the heavens.
Soft like a ball of cotton.
It was hard not to be moved by her.
On the day Ming Zhao participated in another competition, Shi Chuan bought a bouquet of flowers and struggled to stand out from the crowd.
He handed the flowers to her.
She accepted them with a smile, looked into his eyes, and sincerely thanked him:
“Thank you, they’re beautiful flowers.”
Shi Chuan momentarily forgot the words he had prepared.
He stammered, “No, no problem.”
That was the first time Shi Chuan got close enough to see her eyes.
Like shimmering autumn water.
They swayed, winding into one’s heart.
Shi Chuan heard his own heartbeat.
Thump, thump, thump.
Three beats.
Three seconds.
It turns out a heart’s surrender only takes three seconds.
