Chapter 10
When I woke up from the hospital bed, the sky was left with only the last trace of twilight.
“You’re awake? Zhaozhao, do you want to eat something?”
It wasn’t Shi Chuan.
I turned my head and saw the bloodshot eyes of Jiang You.
“Why are you…?”
“I went to your company to discuss the contract with you, and coincidentally, your subordinate said she needed to give you this document.”
“I offered to deliver it for her. Your phone was unreachable, so she contacted Shi Chuan and gave me the hospital address.”
“…Where’s Shi Chuan?”
Jiang You paused for a moment.
“When I came in, I didn’t see him.”
I got up and stepped down from the bed.
Jiang You tried to stop me: “You should rest…”
I avoided him and walked straight to the window. Jiang You had no choice but to hold the IV for me.
The hospital room was on a high floor.
I could see the various pedestrians below at a glance-
And my husband with his mistress.
It seemed they were arguing about something.
I reached into my pocket and took out my phone.
Just in time to see a picture sent from an unfamiliar number not long ago.
An ultrasound image.
Wen He said:
-“Miss Ming, Shi Chuan will be a good father.”
I finally got it.
What I wanted.
I exhaled a deep breath.
Jiang You stood beside me, calling my name, his voice trembling: “Zhaozhao.”
“Zhaozhao.”
“Don’t be sad…”
I lowered my head and sent a message to Shi Chuan:
-“Let’s get a divorce.”
The people below seemed to realize something. After glancing at their phone, they turned and headed inside the building.
“Jiang You.” I looked up at him: “You should leave.”
“And you? Are you going to keep entangling with him? He already has a child with that woman!”
I said nothing. Jiang You stepped forward, grabbing one of my hands.
A streak of red extended from the corner of his eye.
“Zhaozhao! I beg you, don’t continue this.”
“He won’t change…”
The door to the hospital room creaked open.
Standing at the door, Shi Chuan saw this scene.
He paused, his face shifting from panic to something else: “Ming Zhao, you want to divorce me…”
“Is it because of him?”
“Because of a coward who has secretly loved you for over ten years but never dared to speak?”
“Zhaozhao, we…”
Before he could finish, Jiang You punched him in the face.
Shi Chuan reached out to retaliate.
Neither of them held back.
“Shi Chuan, you’re despicable. You married her, yet you still cheated.”
“You don’t deserve her!”
Shi Chuan was punched at the corner of his mouth, and crimson blood flowed down.
But he suddenly laughed: “Do you know?”
“Do you know she was once violated by her teacher?”
“Would you still love her after knowing that?”
The air seemed to suddenly freeze.
The secret Shi Chuan once swore to keep buried within him was casually exposed at this moment.
I watched Jiang You’s actions suddenly pause, his face turning pale in an instant.
He looked at me, mouthing words, seemingly wanting to say something.
Whether it was “Is it true” or “I’m sorry.”
I could almost foresee it.
“You should leave,” I said, “Jiang You.”
