Mist Over Victoria Harbour, Loving the Wrong Billionaire - Chapter 10
Who knows what kind of madness has seized Zhong Yichen, haunting me like a ghost with his relentless pestering.
Every few days he flies to Shanghai, no longer seeking out his lover, no longer caring for his mistress.
It’s as if without me, he and his lover and mistress have lost all passion, even their affairs have lost their flavor.
I pay him no mind; during my break, I set out for my planned trip to Inner Mongolia.
Tired of the bustling glitz, tired of the information overload of daily life, everyone needs a little purification from nature.
I chose a yurt, with wind, with light, with grasslands and lakes, with the slow passage of time.
To my surprise, on this trip, I ran into Hu Shiqing.
Clearly, she hadn’t expected it either. After two days of awkwardly running into each other, she finally couldn’t resist greeting me.
But the first thing out of her mouth was hardly pleasant: “Since you divorced my cousin, you look a lot more pleasing to the eye.”
I pulled my straw hat down, my voice buzzing: “Not looking for your Kitty-jie anymore?”
She plopped down beside me, grumbling yet visibly excited: “Do you know, Kitty doesn’t even like men, she actually has a girlfriend and kept it from me.”
“Made me play the ugly duckling for years, I thought she liked my cousin, how was I supposed to know it was all just my wishful thinking.”
Once she started talking, the news poured out of her like a flood.
For the next two days, Hu Shiqing followed me everywhere. I thought she wanted to play mediator for Zhong Yichen.
When I mentioned it, she waved her hand: “You underestimate me. If he can’t handle you, that’s his problem, I’m not getting involved.”
But who would have thought, after a few days, Zhong Yichen showed up in Inner Mongolia again, haunting me like a ghost.
Right in front of Hu Shiqing, I didn’t bother with pleasantries-after cursing him out, I turned and left.
Hu Shiqing patted him on the shoulder and called out, “Cousin.”
Zhong Yichen withdrew his gaze, forcing his patience: “What is it?”
“If you’re sick, you should see a doctor,” she looked at him pitifully, “not come to Inner Mongolia to look at cows.”
