Chapter 22 - Tigress
Yong’an Town was plagued by demons, which was useful information for Leng Yan. Certainly, Leng Yan was not afraid; rather, there was a mission within his sect to eliminate demons. Success in this mission would earn him rewards from the sect, so Leng Yan intended to take care of the demon trouble in Yong’an Town.
The philosophy was simple: if you can beat them, fight; if not, flee immediately! This was the way to preserve one’s life!
After leaving a silver ingot on the counter, he called for Little Tiger and hurried off, leaving the stunned shopkeeper muttering to himself.
Yong’an Town was the last inhabited town before reaching the Tide Sea, beyond which lay a hundred miles of primal forest teeming with fierce beasts. The people of Yong’an Town, having lived there for a long time, were all valiant and skilled in battle.
Many of the women possessed the strength of the Divine Valor Realm, and there were quite a few at the Divine Transformation and Innate Realms as well. Therefore, Leng Yan was sure that the mischief in the area was not the work of ordinary monsters, but rather disciples from an evil sect practicing their cultivation.
Leng Yan rode Little Tiger into Yong’an Town. It was broad daylight, yet the streets were eerily deserted, with only leaves being blown about in the air.
The scene was somewhat desolate, as if the place had been abandoned, but Leng Yan could feel that people were hiding in the houses nearby.
Little Tiger walked slowly down the street, his large tiger head looking around as if he too was puzzled by many things.
Suddenly! Little Tiger looked into the distance, as if sensing something, and a happy expression could be seen on his tiger face, reflecting the excitement and joy in his heart.
“Little Tiger, what did you find? Why are you so happy?” Leng Yan frowned slightly, peering into the distance, puzzled.
“I found it! I finally found it!” Little Tiger said excitedly.
“What did you find?”
“Tigress! I finally found Tigress! Haha! Tigress down the hill! Here I come!” Little Tiger’s eyes were filled with excitement, and he joyfully leapt forward, ready to dash off.
Hearing Little Tiger’s words, Leng Yan almost fell off the tiger’s back. He certainly had no interest in watching Little Tiger meet another tiger for their amorous escapades.
“Hold on! I’ll look around here; you go find your Tigress!”
“Master is wise, but it’s a pity that you can’t see my majestic power anymore. I am truly formidable!” Little Tiger declared boldly, shaking his hips with an air of authority.
“Get lost! Damn it! Show off in front of me, will you? Believe it or not, I’ll cut off your tiger penis and stew a pot of soup with it!” Leng Yan could hardly believe that his spirit tiger was such a lecher and shameless to boot.
Well, after all, they are beasts; we can’t hold them to such high standards, can we? They’re used to fighting in the wild, after all. It’s not logical to expect two tigers to check into a hotel room.
Little Tiger didn’t care what Leng Yan was thinking; he just heard Leng Yan threaten to cut off his tiger penis, which scared him so much that he shook his hips and flung Leng Yan into the air, then vanished like the wind.
With a somersault in the air and a smooth landing, Leng Yan cursed Little Tiger thousands of times in his heart before slowly walking through Yong’an Town.
“Zhang’s Blacksmith Shop! There’s a person here in the late stage of innate development, which is already considered peak in the secular world, yet he works here as a blacksmith?”
Standing outside Zhang’s Blacksmith Shop, Leng Yan had already mentally scanned everything inside. He stepped forward and gently knocked three times on the tightly closed door.
Soon, the door opened, revealing a man in his thirties. The man was dressed in hemp clothes, but his robust muscles, filled with explosive power, were evident.
As the man opened the door and was about to shoo Leng Yan away, facing Leng Yan made him feel utterly uncomfortable, as if a single wrong move could be fatal.
“May I know which sect’s disciple you are, and what brings you to my humble shop?” Blacksmith Zhang’s expression changed slightly, then he spoke in a composed manner.
Leng Yan, who had just exerted mental pressure, did not expect such a mindset from Blacksmith Zhang, who was clearly no ordinary man.
“I am Leng Yan of the Five Elements Sect, here to inquire about something! May I come in and sit?” Leng Yan asked with a smile, his tone light.
“Of course, please come in! The house is a bit messy, I ask for your understanding.” Blacksmith Zhang stepped back and spoke.
Leng Yan nodded in thanks and then proceeded into the blacksmith shop, with Blacksmith Zhang closing the door behind them.
“Leng Yan, are you here to inquire about the demonic disturbances in this area?” Blacksmith Zhang gestured for Leng Yan to sit down, picked up the teapot, brewed some tea for Leng Yan, and asked.
Leng Yan nodded, took a sip of the tea, and said, “Since you know why I’m here, I wonder if you could offer some guidance.”
“This demon is actually an inner disciple of the Corpse Yin Sect, who kills people here to absorb the death energy, Fiendish Qi, and resentment energy from the dead bodies for his cultivation of Divine Power.”
“Oh? And what is his cultivation level? If I were to confront him, could I kill him?”
“Although you are only at the magical power realm, you possess three treasure tools, including two high-grade ones, which can kill a cultivator in the initial stage of the true essence realm. This evil sect disciple also has a high-grade treasure tool and is at the initial stage of the true essence realm. If you two were to fight, it would likely result in mutual destruction!” Blacksmith Zhang looked intently at Leng Yan and spoke calmly.
Hearing Blacksmith Zhang’s words, Leng Yan felt a tremor in his heart, knowing that all his magical treasures were in his storage bag, yet this man knew them clearly.
But this person is clearly only at the Innate Realm, how can he see all the magical treasures on me so clearly?
Leng Yan was surprised inside! However, his face showed no change in expression, he still smiled, stood up, and said, “Thank you for the guidance; now I have some idea of what to expect. I shall take my leave!”
“Wait a moment! I have a somewhat impolite request!” Blacksmith Zhang saw Leng Yan about to leave, hesitantly called out to him, and said.
“Speak your mind!”
“Could you sell your refining materials to me at a low price? These materials are of great use to me! Please agree!” Blacksmith Zhang asked awkwardly.
“Refining materials? I will not sell these materials to you.”
“Why?” Blacksmith Zhang asked anxiously, showing how crucial these materials were to him.
Leng Yan’s refining materials were obtained from Chen Hai and Li Kai, and since he was not lacking in magical treasures, he found no use for them; thus, he decided to give them to Blacksmith Zhang as a favor, “Don’t misunderstand, my intention is to give you these materials as a way of making a friend.”
“This! I’m not one to take advantage without giving back! However, I really need these refining materials right now, and my savings are indeed limited. I will remember your kindness today for the rest of my life,” Zhang Tao gratefully said.
Leng Yan gave a slight smile, waving his hand dismissively, “You’re being too polite! I only have this much material, so just take it.”
Opening the storage bag, Leng Yan poured out all the refining materials, which piled up like a small mountain. These refining materials were definitely worth a low-grade treasure tool, and Leng Yan gave them away without even blinking.
“Thank you!” Zhang Tao said with a heavy tone.
Just as Leng Yan was about to chat more with Zhang Tao, he suddenly remembered Little Tiger’s cries for help, “Master, save me! Someone is trying to capture my tigress!”
“I have an urgent matter. I must go now. Hope to see you again if fate allows!” Hearing Little Tiger’s plea for help, Leng Yan quickly said goodbye and dashed off, his figure flashing towards Little Tiger’s location.
After Leng Yan left, Zhang Tao waved his hand to collect the refining materials and swiftly entered a secret chamber.
Moving through the trees like lightning, the cries for help from Little Tiger grew louder and more desperate, even tearful. It was truly heartbreaking for anyone listening. Could it be that the emotional bond between tigers grew so quickly that within such a short period of time, they were willing to shed precious tears for each other? It seemed necessary to reassess this amorous tiger; perhaps Little Tiger was indeed deeply sentimental.
“Boom!”
A loud explosion sounded as an ancient tree ahead burst into splinters.
On the clearing, a spirit tiger with white fur and a multicolored halo trembled and hid to one side. In front of it, another white tiger, also with white fur, was covered in fresh blood, continuously emitting yellow light as it attacked its foe.
Above them, a man in grey clothes held a ghostly flag, imbued with a chilling aura and filled with mournful, agonizing screams that echoed around, assaulting the soul.
