Married to the Infertile CEO, I Got Morning Sickness - Chapter 10
In the blink of an eye, the day the children were due to arrive had come.
Huo Yanchuan received the news, canceled his work commitments, bought the earliest available flight, and flew over.
At the hospital, I safely gave birth to a pair of boy and girl twins.
The babies were just born and hadn’t grown into their features yet, so it was impossible to tell who they resembled.
I took out a divorce agreement I had prepared in advance and handed it to Huo Yanchuan.
In truth, deep down, I didn’t really want to divorce him.
This divorce agreement was meant to test his attitude.
The agreement stated that I voluntarily gave up all property of the Huo Family.
I gestured a long string of sign language to him: “Didn’t you say that once I gave birth to the children, we’d get divorced? I’ve drafted the agreement. If you think it’s fine, just sign it.”
After reading the divorce agreement, his eyes reddened as he said, “You want to divorce me before your confinement period is even over? What, is the children’s father too impatient to wait?”
I waved my hand: “It has nothing to do with the children’s father. I just want to give you freedom. You deserve someone better.”
Unexpectedly, he tore the divorce agreement to pieces.
He said seriously, “We’re not getting divorced.”
Not getting divorced?
He continued, “If you want me to make way for you and that other man, forget it.”
“I’ve thought it over. Since I don’t have reproductive ability, I’d have to adopt children sooner or later. Rather than adopting someone else’s children, I’d rather raise yours.”
I was stunned.
Last time, after someone heard I was pregnant, he broke down and said, “I’m not generous enough to raise another man’s children.”
How did he convince himself over these past few months?
Seeing I didn’t respond, his tone turned sour: “What, is that other man waiting for me to step aside?”
“You were pregnant and he never came to see you. Clearly, he’s a scumbag.”
“Is such a scumbag really worth giving up your current life for?”
“As for the past, I can let it go.”
“I can accept these two children and treat them as my own.”
“But from now on, you have to live well with me. You can’t go looking for other men anymore.”
I hadn’t said a word, yet he had said so much.
Seeing I was still silent, his gaze shifted slightly, as if trying to read my thoughts.
He lowered his voice and said, “I’ve been working hard to nurse my health, eating medicinal food every day. If it really doesn’t work, I’ll buy you…”
I almost burst out laughing at him.
What on earth was going on in his head?
Was he so unwilling to divorce me because his grandfather was pressuring him?
I signed: “Alright, then we won’t divorce.”
“But my recovery is slow, and I won’t be able to speak for a while. You’re not allowed to dislike me.”
He replied honestly, “I’ve never disliked you.”
“I have my own flaws too. Please don’t dislike me, okay?”
He still didn’t know that he had actually regained his reproductive ability.
The two children were born so healthy, and both at once.
His fertility was more than strong enough.
I nodded and signed: “I don’t dislike you. Neither of us will dislike each other.”
Huo Yanchuan seemed to think of something. Suddenly, his ears turned red, and he hesitated: “Xia Wu, actually I…”
Hmm?
I waited for him to continue.
“I think I…” He got halfway through, then swallowed his words. “Never mind, you focus on your recovery. We’ll talk about it later.”
