Chapter 9
Hearing the commotion, Lin Xian and I hurriedly put on some clothes and went out.
The screams came from Little Fatty’s tent.
Lin Xian picked up a stick and cautiously walked over, lifting the tent flap.
The next second, he gasped and quickly stepped back.
Hiding behind him, I peeked out quietly.
Inside the tent, three women lay naked, sleeping soundly.
And around them, countless snakes were slithering back and forth.
In the night, the snakes hissed, flicking their tongues, writhing everywhere.
White, black, silver, green…
And even multicolored ones.
The sheer number and variety of colors were terrifying.
The screams earlier came from Little Fatty.
At this moment, he was huddled in a corner.
Despite his frantic kicking, the swarm of snakes continued to crawl towards him from all directions.
On the other side, Houzi wasn’t any better off.
He lay on the ground, body stiff, too scared to move.
Seeing Lin Xian, both of them reached out to him as if he were their savior.
“Brother Xian, save me, help…”
“Brother Xian, quickly, drive them away, I don’t want to die…”
The two were wailing in terror, their faces covered in snot and tears.
However, Lin Xian frowned, taking a step back without a word.
I suppressed my fear, trembling as I urged him, “Lin Xian, think of something.”
As soon as I spoke, I felt a chill on my ankle.
Looking down, I saw a small silver snake slowly crawling up my leg.
It raised its head, flicking its tongue, meeting my gaze.
In an instant, I was scared out of my wits.
“Lin Xian, there’s a snake, save me.”
Lin Xian looked over.
He used the stick to flick the snake aside.
But immediately, countless more snakes crawled towards us.
This time, he hesitated for a few seconds.
Then, suddenly, he pushed me aside and ran.
“Jingjing, I’m going to get something, you hide for now.”
Watching his figure disappear into the distance, my heart sank to the bottom.
In the midst of danger, someone suddenly grabbed me.
In a hurried voice, they said, “She Jing, run quickly!”
