Chapter 2
Early the next morning, I received a call from my best friend.
Zhou Ru swallowed nervously and asked me cautiously, “Did you break up with Shen Yuxiu?”
I was still half-asleep, mumbling, “No, why do you ask?”
“Check the trending topics.”
With bleary eyes, I opened Weibo.
The top trending topic was: Shen Yuxiu and the only daughter of the Asia-Pacific President of an international auction house, Ming Rao, are about to get engaged.
The accompanying photo was especially artistic.
In the Shen Family’s manor, the two stood by the lake, Ming Rao draped in Shen Yuxiu’s gray suit jacket, tilting her head and gazing at him with a bright, affectionate smile.
Shen Yuxiu’s face was only half visible, his enchanting phoenix eyes lowered; though one couldn’t see clearly, outsiders could easily imagine the deep emotion in his gaze.
I couldn’t help but sigh-whoever took this photo was a genius.
[Beijing’s Young Elite VS the only daughter of an international auction house’s Asia-Pacific President-this is the true power couple energy. Love it!]
[As expected, Cinderella marrying into a wealthy family only happens in novels. In real life, it’s always a perfect match.]
[Wasn’t there gossip that the person behind Vase Song was Beijing’s Young Elite? So who’s the mistress now?]
[It’s definitely Vase Song. She’s an actress with neither talent nor background, nothing but a pretty face-how could she possibly marry into the Shen Family!]
[From now on, we shouldn’t call her Vase Song, but Mistress Song.]
I was dazed, scrolling through the comments one by one.
Zhou Ru kept calling my name, “Weiwei, Weiwei!”
I finally snapped out of it and replied with a soft “Mm.”
She lowered her voice, asking carefully, “Weiwei, are you really upset?”
I curled my lips into a faint smile. “Upset? Why should I be upset?”
What right did I have to be upset, after all.
