Chapter 9
Voices and footsteps came from the doorway.
Qin Siyuan suddenly ran into the ward.
Pointing at me and Ji Yuxuan, he spoke in a daze.
“Am I seeing things? What are you doing!”
I looked at him indifferently.
“You’re not seeing things, I kissed my brother.”
Qin Siyuan’s emotions instantly collapsed.
“Ji Yutong! I’m your boyfriend!”
“Qin Siyuan, I am officially informing you now. We’ve broken up.”
“Break up? Ji Yutong, you said you’d pursue me and you did, you say you’ll break up and you do, what do you take me for!”
“I was blind before, now I can see again.”
“You…!”
Qin Siyuan, unwilling to give up, grabbed my hand and pestered me with questions.
Ji Yuxuan shouted, “Let go of my sister!”
Qin Siyuan turned his face, his expression sinister.
“I’ve long felt that the way you look at her isn’t normal! Coveting your own sister, have you no shame!”
Qin Siyuan swung a punch at Ji Yuxuan on the bed.
I blocked him in front of Ji Yuxuan’s bed and slapped Qin Siyuan hard.
“Get out of this ward right now!”
“I can leave,” Qin Siyuan said, covering his cheek and spitting out saliva, “but you’re coming with me.”
“Liking one’s own younger sister makes one a beast.”
Ji Yuxuan was burning with anxiety.
He fell off the bed, disregarding everything.
Then he saw, amidst the struggle between me and Qin Siyuan,
a leather-bound diary fall out of my coat pocket.
It was Ji Yuxuan’s diary from before.
His expression subtly changed.
He raised his head to look at me, stunned.
The commotion was too loud.
Eventually, it attracted a nurse.
Qin Siyuan was driven away.
Only I and Ji Yuxuan were left in the ward.
Ji Yuxuan’s eyes were very dark as he asked me, “When did you find this diary?”
I didn’t want to explain too much.
I didn’t want Ji Yuxuan to know what his other life was like.
I just wanted him to be well now.
“I saw it not long ago.”
He lowered his head and gave a self-mocking laugh, as if speaking to himself.
“So… you know everything.”
“Yes. It’s written in your diary that you like me.”
Ji Yuxuan paused.
“Liking one’s own younger sister makes one a beast.”
The harshness in his tone startled me.
Ji Yuxuan, you back then.
What kind of feelings were you harboring
when you wrote that sentence in your diary?
“But we’re not blood-related, so what does it matter?”
Ji Yuxuan didn’t answer me.
Changing the subject, he asked me:
“Ji Yutong, did you come up with this method to trick me because you found this diary?”
