I Divorced Him Quietly, Then He Went Crazy - Chapter 3
After that call.
I sat in the living room, waiting for him.
In those brief ten minutes, I thought of many things.
I remembered the day after I married Jeremy, I received a friend request from Evelyn Tan.
She said she was Jeremy’s childhood friend, living abroad, and couldn’t attend our wedding.
She could only wish me a happy marriage this way.
She said she was very sorry.
At the time, I didn’t know she was Jeremy’s unforgettable first love.
I politely replied with a thank you.
Later, when I learned her identity, I realized how incredibly slow I could be sometimes.
But for some reason, I didn’t delete her.
Nor did I tell anyone about it.
Perhaps because, at that time, I didn’t love Jeremy – people are inherently fond of drama, and I watched everything dispassionately, wanting to see what else Evelyn Tan would do.
But unfortunately, she did nothing.
Instead, Jeremy and I grew closer.
Many times, I thought Jeremy probably liked my obedience and silence.
But beyond that, there was nothing.
He was no longer young, nor would he love me as he had loved Evelyn Tan.
That night, I didn’t wait for Jeremy to come home.
Nor did I receive any messages or calls from him.
I called him several times, but no one answered.
Holding my phone, looking at the number in my contacts, for a moment, I almost cried.
I suddenly had a premonition.
I wouldn’t be able to wait for him.
When some people reunite,
someone else must be losing something.
Life is always like that.
I was stunned for a long time, then sent him a message: “If you’re busy, don’t rush back. I’m going to bed.”
At three in the morning, he replied with just one word: “Okay.”
