I Divorced Him Quietly, Then He Went Crazy - Chapter 2
I read through the comments, one by one.
I saw someone inadvertently mention me: “Wait, is Jeremy preparing for his third anniversary recently? Said he was going to surprise his wife.”
This comment was posted less than a minute before the person, perhaps thinking it inappropriate, quickly deleted it.
Besides me, probably few people saw it.
My finger, resting on the phone screen, stiffened.
Three years, just like that.
Jeremy was actually going to prepare a surprise for me?
Just as I thought this, I saw that Jeremy had liked that post.
He said nothing.
However, precisely because he said nothing, it left ample room for speculation.
I opened my own social media.
I’m someone who loves to share my life, posting daily updates every now and then.
I scrolled from top to bottom.
There wasn’t a single trace of Jeremy.
He was a man who hated trouble and never cared about such things.
I sighed.
There was a feeling of something settling.
Love or not love, it was too obvious.
But I had no choice.
When we first went on that arranged date, Jeremy and I had an agreement: he would save my family, the Chus, from the brink of bankruptcy, and I would marry him.
It was a mutually beneficial arrangement.
Now, Evelyn Tan was returning.
Perhaps, I should frankly ask him what he intended.
If he wanted a divorce, I had no objections.
Even if I genuinely liked him.
After making this decision, I calmly found Jeremy Zhou’s phone number.
And dialed.
He answered quickly.
Before I could even speak, he chuckled, very candidly:
“Charlotte.”
Are you home?”
I’ll be back soon, do you need me to bring anything?”
He liked calling me by my full name like that.
I clenched my palm.
And replied calmly, “No.”
“I just have something I want to talk to you about.”
Perhaps my tone was too serious, his voice paused, and his smile slowly faded.
“Is it important?” he asked.
I said, “Yes.”
“Very important.”
