I Divorced Him Quietly, Then He Went Crazy - Chapter 10
Two years flew by.
When I returned to the country, it happened to be my best friend’s engagement.
She called me and asked me to go try on wedding dresses with her.
I went.
But I didn’t expect to meet Jeremy.
Across the street, he stood by his car, looking down at his phone.
He didn’t notice me.
After two years, he seemed to have become much more severe.
His entire demeanor had settled, making him seem unapproachable.
I averted my gaze and followed my friend into the shop.
She tried on several dresses, finally settling on two.
As we were about to leave, she remembered something, then refused to go, urging me to try one on too.
After I tried it on and came out, she looked at me for a long time, then said, “Charlotte, have you ever thought about getting married? You’re still young and so beautiful, you could marry anyone you want.”
I chuckled, “I haven’t thought about that yet.”
My friend sighed, “How about I introduce you to someone? I have a few pretty good candidates; we could arrange a meeting sometime.”
I listened patiently, but then another voice reached my ears.
“Charlotte!”
I turned and saw Brandon Zhou.
He was Jeremy’s cousin.
He had always treated me with respect.
He was also one of the few who wouldn’t mention Evelyn Tan in front of me.
His gaze lingered on me for a while before he spoke, “Charlotte. When did you get back? Are you getting engaged or married?”
“Such big news, why didn’t we hear anything?”
I was about to explain when a shop assistant came over, interrupting our conversation, and said to Brandon Zhou.
“Sir, Mr. Zhou is waiting for you outside; he wants you to hurry.”
I glanced outside.
At the door, a figure stood with his back to us, his shirt sleeves slightly rolled up, idly twirling car keys.
Their brothers’ bond had always been strong, so he must have come with Brandon.
However, he seemed unwilling to step into such a place; he didn’t even glance inside.
Brandon Zhou suddenly looked flustered.
His eyes, as he looked at me, became a little nervous.
“I have something to do, so I’ll be leaving now. I’ll contact you later.”
With that, before I could say anything, he quickly pulled his female companion out the door.
