Chapter 32
Tao Lizhi had seen a coffin before, at his grandfather’s funeral. The old man lay there with his eyes closed, looking peaceful, never to smile at him again with that chrysanthemum-like face and call him “Little Tao Tao.” He had passed away quietly, still holding Tao Lizhi’s hand.
He cried for days, unable to understand why his beloved grandfather, who loved playing with him, had to die. It was his first encounter with death, and he was terrified by it. He couldn’t accept it. His cousin Bi Heng had told him that death is inevitable for everyone, sooner or later, and that they would all end up in a coffin eventually.
Tao Lizhi never expected that he would end up in a coffin so soon…
He shivered, looking pitifully like a stray puppy at the Long-haired Woman outside the coffin, pleading, “I-I-I mean no harm. Please don’t misunderstand. I’m actually here to thank you for saving me at the hospital…”
Gu Feiyin was taken aback. Here to thank her? Not here to demand millions in compensation for the jade?
In an instant, the heaviness on her face disappeared, and she grinned, “Oh, you’re here to thank us.”
Tao Lizhi noticed the Long-haired Woman’s missing front tooth, which added an eerie touch to her smile. He forced a smile, “Heh heh heh… Yes.”
Gu Feiyin let out a big sigh of relief and waved to the Neighbor Miss and Old Lady standing across from her, “Jumping Sister, Old Lady, come over here. This little guy is here to thank us. Show yourselves.”
When he turned his head, he saw an old and a young ghost standing on the other side of the coffin. They didn’t look as terrifying as they did that night. Their faces weren’t bleeding, and there were no strange stones embedded in their foreheads. They just looked pale and ghostly, floating in the air, staring at him with lifeless eyes.
The two ghosts didn’t speak; they just stared at him.
Neighbor Miss: “…”
Old Lady: “…”
Tao Lizhi: “…”
With three ghosts surrounding him, his heart pounded wildly. He couldn’t help but feel faint again. Could he please get out of the coffin first? Talking like this was really testing his heart.
Gu Feiyin didn’t notice the boy’s discomfort and said happily, “You look like you’ve recovered well. You should be fine now.”
Tao Lizhi obediently replied, “Ever since you ate that ghost, I haven’t had any more episodes. I’ve been going to school these past few days. Because the teacher found out about my previous truancy, they’ve been keeping a close eye on me, so I haven’t had a chance to skip class.”
Gu Feiyin raised an eyebrow, “Skipping class?”
Tao Lizhi’s legs went weak, “…”
She looked at the boy who didn’t appreciate his blessings and dared to skip class. Without education and a degree, his future would be as bleak as hers, struggling to find a job and being rejected everywhere. He might not even be able to hand out flyers. How foolish!
The classes you skip today are the tears you shed tomorrow.
She said earnestly, “You need to study hard, or you’ll end up like me. That would be really tragic.”
Tao Lizhi’s hair stood on end, “I-I-I-I will study hard and never skip class again!” He didn’t want to end up like her! He didn’t want to become a ghost!
“Yes, study hard and get a good degree.”
“…What counts as a good degree?”
Gu Feiyin didn’t know what a good degree was either. She just knew that when she tried to find a good job to earn more money, employers always asked for a resume with a lot of blanks to fill in, like name, age, education, and work experience. She could only fill in her name and age, and the rest were blank. Once she handed in her resume, they would tell her to wait for a response, and she would never hear back.
Even when she tried to hand out flyers, they would ask if she was a college student doing part-time work. When they found out she didn’t even have a primary school diploma, they would pity her and say things about how her parents should have made sure she went to school. She felt embarrassed and deeply realized how important education was for finding a job.
Although she was just an old ghost in a pit, she didn’t know if she had parents or not. She had no memory of her life before death, except that she was killed. After becoming a ghost, she seemed to have killed the person who killed her… She couldn’t remember clearly and didn’t care to. She preferred to count her gold and silver treasures in the pit.
Fortunately, she had some residual memories from the original owner and combined with her own intelligence, she could barely recognize the characters of this new era. Otherwise, she would be illiterate, unable to find work, and might even be sold and help count the money.
“I heard that universities like 985 and 211 are good for finding jobs. Aim for one of those.”
The struggling student Tao Lizhi felt pained. He knew he couldn’t get into those, “I-I will try my best to get into a good one!”
Gu Feiyin nodded in satisfaction. This boy was grateful, filial, and ambitious. He was a good kid.
Tao Lizhi blinked and looked at the three ghosts surrounding him, “Can I get out of the coffin first?”
Gu Feiyin nodded, “Sure.”
In an instant, Tao Lizhi almost rolled out of the coffin. As soon as he got out, a cold wind blew, making him shiver. He hugged his backpack tightly. He felt a chill all over and saw the three ghosts still staring at him. He was so nervous he didn’t know what to do. Although they were good ghosts, he still felt uneasy.
“Oh, right.” He finally remembered. He had brought gifts to thank them. He opened his backpack, “To thank you for saving me, I brought a lot of incense and paper money. Do you like them? If it’s not enough, I can buy more next time!”
Gu Feiyin had already seen the backpack full of treasures. Now, hearing the boy say he was giving them to her, she was delighted. Although she couldn’t use them now, she would need them when she died. Money was always welcome.
Such a polite boy was really adorable.
Gu Feiyin pointed to the coffin, “Thank you. Just put them in here.”
Tao Lizhi: “…”
He didn’t ask why they didn’t need to burn the offerings. Could they use them just by putting them in the coffin? Since she said so, he didn’t dare to question it. He dumped everything from his backpack into the coffin. Only then did he notice that the coffin was lined with cotton, which explained why he felt warm earlier.
After emptying his backpack, he zipped it up and put it back on.
When he looked up, he saw the Long-haired Woman handing two candles to the Neighbor Miss and Old Lady. They took them without a word and started gnawing on them, staring at him as if they were gnawing on him…
Tao Lizhi stammered, “D-Do you like them?”
Neighbor Miss: “…”
Old Lady: “…”
Tao Lizhi: “If you like them, I’ll buy more next time.”
Neighbor Miss: “…”
Old Lady: “…”
Tao Lizhi could only laugh awkwardly, “Heh heh heh…”
Crunch, another big piece of the candle was bitten off.
Tao Lizhi’s smile froze. Why did he feel like even his laughter was wrong? Good ghosts were good ghosts, but they were still scary!
In the end, Tao Lizhi left the unfinished building with his hands and feet moving in sync. He looked back at the building standing in the snow, bathed in the morning light. Although it still looked eerie, he strangely felt it wasn’t as terrifying as he remembered.
Next time, he planned to bring more candles. They seemed to enjoy eating them.
Old Man Wang was out for his morning jog and saw Tao Lizhi walking with a backpack. This wasn’t the way to school, and he didn’t recognize the boy. He must be one of those thrill-seekers heading to the unfinished building. He had heard that previous thrill-seekers had suffered, yet there were still people daring to go!
“Hey, young man.”
Tao Lizhi looked up, confused, “Old Man, are you calling me?”
Old Man Wang said, “Yes, I’m calling you. What are you doing out here so early?”
Tao Lizhi hesitated, “Oh, I went to see a friend. Why?”
Old Man Wang understood and leaned in, speaking mysteriously, “You young folks need to be careful. Take a longer route and avoid that unfinished building. It’s haunted!”
Tao Lizhi: “How do you know?”
Old Man Wang patted Tao Lizhi’s shoulder, showing a “nobody understands my world” expression, and said solemnly, “Because I’ve seen it. I once saw a coffin flying in the sky over there. But you mortals can’t see it. Trust me, avoid that place! And don’t walk alone at night, got it?”
Tao Lizhi nodded, thinking that although he hadn’t seen a flying coffin, he had slept in one.
He walked away with his backpack, and Old Man Wang glanced at the unfinished building, shivered, and jogged in the opposite direction.
…
When Tao Lizhi got home, his parents were still there, having breakfast. They were shocked to see him coming in with a backpack, “Weren’t you sleeping in your room?”
It was Saturday, so no one had woken him up early.
Tao Lizhi: “I went for a walk. I’m hungry. I want to eat.”
Tao Mom quickly served him a bowl of porridge. Tao Dad, thinking his son had gone out to play again, scolded him, “We haven’t found the person targeting you yet. Be careful outside. Don’t let your guard down at school either. We saved you once, but we might not be able to save you a second time.”
Tao Lizhi nodded, “Have the Daoists you hired found anything? Did they find the ghost that harmed me?”
Tao Dad sighed, regretting not taking his son’s request to hire a real master seriously. Instead, he had hired a half-baked one, missing the best time to investigate. Now, it was much harder to find anything.
Tao Lizhi said, “Actually, I met my benefactor, the master who saved me at the hospital and captured the ghost.”
Tao Dad and Tao Mom were immediately excited, “When did this happen? Where is she? We want to meet her too!”
Tao Lizhi thought of the unfinished building and the eerie coffin inside. He was scared half to death. If his parents went there, they might have a heart attack, “Let’s talk about it later. What I want to say is, I asked my benefactor, and she said that ghost was special. It was a Malevolent Ghost that feeds on people’s Fortune. When such a ghost targets someone, it gradually eats away their Fortune. Without Fortune, a person’s luck runs out, and without luck, they face disasters and hardships, eventually dying miserably.”
Tao Lizhi’s words sent a chill down the spines of Tao Dad and Tao Mom. The couple exchanged a glance, both shocked and bewildered. Who would resort to such malicious methods against their son, or perhaps, use him to target the Tao Family?
Tao Dad asked, “Did the master say who is behind this ghost?”
Tao Lizhi shook his head. “Actually, I wasn’t completely out of it when I saw the Long-haired Female Ghost devour that ghost without a word. I asked her today, and she seemed even more clueless than me. She said she didn’t know, and besides, she had already digested the ghost, so it’s not like she could just take it out of her stomach to ask.”
“We don’t know. The master immediately dispersed the ghost’s soul, not giving it a chance to speak.”
Tao Dad and Tao Mom were speechless. This must be what they call a true master.
Tao Lizhi had a sip of his century egg and pork congee. The porridge was fragrant and thick, cooked to perfection. He slurped down most of the bowl before lifting his head and saying, “Right, I need to give the master a gift. Can you give me some money?”
Tao Mom replied, “What do you know of such matters? Tell me where the master lives, her full name, and I will go tomorrow to buy a nice gift and prepare a red envelope. We’ll go and thank her personally. You just focus on your studies!”
Was Tao Lizhi supposed to tell them the master wasn’t human, and that she didn’t need their gifts?
“…The master doesn’t like seeing outsiders. Just give me a few thousand yuan, and I’ll buy some gifts to send over. Don’t worry, she won’t mind.”
“How could that be acceptable?”
“You going there won’t make a difference; she won’t meet you. It has to be me who goes.”
Tao Dad said to Tao Mom, “Just let him do it. Maybe it’s the affinity Tao Lizhi and the master have. It might not be good if we force our way there.”
Left with no choice, Tao Mom relented, “Is a few thousand yuan enough? I’ll transfer tens of thousands to your card, or should I buy some gifts for you to take?”
“No gifts. Just transfer ten thousand yuan; that should be enough.” After all, Tao Lizhi needed to provide for Three Ghosts to eat candles, and ten thousand would suffice for now. He suddenly felt the weight of responsibility-he could tell these ghosts living in the unfinished building were destitute wandering spirits who probably had a tough life. “If it’s not enough, I’ll ask you for more.”
“That’s settled then.”
Tao Dad added, “Ask the master if she could come to our old house to check if someone is causing mischief. It would be even better if she could catch that person.”
Tao Lizhi stiffened. If his parents knew that the master was actually Three Ghosts, he wondered if they would still be able to smile.
…
Meanwhile, Gu Feiyin was at the unfinished building, dividing gifts. She split the Paper Money and Gold Ingots into three parts-one for Jumpy, one for Old Lady, and one for herself. She couldn’t eat the candles now, so she gave them all to the other two. “You kids are really generous. With this, you can eat until the year after next.” She had also saved quite a bit for herself.
Neighbor Miss and Old Lady, who were busy chewing on candles, froze and turned to look at Long Black Straight Hair…
Long Black Straight Hair didn’t notice their resentful eyes as she burned their shares of the offerings, stashing her own portion in the coffin. She then unzipped the nylon bag on the floor, which contained a cardboard box with many of her belongings, like a toothbrush and some bottles and jars given by Sudi’s parents. She planned to go downstairs to wash up.
These were recent purchases, costing her a few yuan. The cardboard box was given by the convenience store owner. Recently, the wind had been very strong, and every night, it blew her place into a mess, scattering items everywhere and covering them in dust. She decided to pack everything into the box and then put it in the nylon bag, placing a few stones on top to weigh it down, ensuring it wouldn’t blow away and was dust-proof. It was a perfect solution.
After freshening up, she went to work. Since she had nowhere to sleep the previous night, she had dozed off on the coffin board, which left her rather groggy today, constantly nodding off.
In the afternoon, she couldn’t resist and took a nap because the coffin was simply too warm and the work too easy. She didn’t even need to open her eyes to make the customers scream. She couldn’t help but doze off for a little while…
She was so sleepy. How was she going to distribute flyers at night?
…
The production team of “Winner Takes All” was also extremely busy lately. Accidents involving guests and staff had thrown off their original filming schedule, and with only six days left until the broadcast next Saturday, this might become their first broadcast accident since the show started. By then, not only the audience and fans would be up in arms, but the media might also start writing about it.
Moreover, since the incident occurred at the amusement park, even if they wanted to reshoot, it was unlikely that the artists would agree.
The director of the program said, “The haunted house segment was good, but we need to reshoot everything. It wouldn’t be right to just insert a segment about the haunted house.”
“Should we change to a different amusement park for filming?”
“No, Zhao Xing and Sun Yiyi’s agents specifically mentioned that if we don’t change the hosts, we can’t go to an amusement park. The incident that night left them all with psychological scars, and they’ve even hired several psychologists.”
“What should we do then?”
That really was a tough problem to solve.
…
The kind boss was also deeply troubled. Although the production team and the amusement park hadn’t completely fallen out, and the park had taken some responsibility, he had hoped to use this opportunity to promote their haunted house. But now, even broadcasting what they had already filmed was uncertain. After all, the incident had caused the filming to be abruptly halted, and most of the crew ended up in the hospital…
He was worried until finally, the long-awaited Saturday arrived. “Winner Takes All” was broadcast as scheduled after many twists and turns.
Sitting nervously in front of the TV, the kind boss watched as the program’s content remained the same as before, but instead of being set in a single location, like an amusement park, it now included various places like malls, night markets, and schools. This change added flexibility, but the ultimate goal was still to find the real key and the Treasure Box.
The kind boss, let alone Ma Ao, Yuan Gaoming, Ren Kun, and He Kang, didn’t expect their haunted house segment to be included, considering that they had to reshoot everything due to the incidents that night. What they had filmed in the amusement park was deemed unusable.
But the unexpected happened!
The production team actually inserted the haunted house segment at one of the task points?! So now the whole country was going to see them getting scared out of their wits?
When they initially entered the haunted house, although there were no photographers following them, cameras had been installed inside, and each of them was wearing a camera on their head, which was convenient for recording their first-person views.
This segment was Yuan Gaoming’s stronghold. Ren Kun and the others had even discussed taking over the haunted house, boldly declaring their intent, which was quite stirring.
Yuan Gaoming’s fans were thrilled.
“Yuan Gaoming is so cute. The haunted house really isn’t scary at all-it’s all just people in disguise. Only those who are guilty are afraid.”
“Yuan Gaoming and Ren Kun really caught a Jiangshi! Hahaha the Jiangshi was about to cry! Poor Jiangshi, have mercy, Ming King!”
“Wow, Yuan Gaoming caught another female ghost. I’m so jealous of that female ghost, can I reincarnate as her? Ming King emerges, all demons and ghosts scatter!”
…
These comments were quite numerous, praising Yuan Gaoming, and of course, not forgetting to mention Ma Ao, the famous horror livestreamer known as “Bold Ma.” This time, hiding behind He Kang, he looked as helpless as a little chick.
“Hahaha, isn’t that the horror host Ma Ao? To think he got scared into such a state, he’s not even as good as Yuan Gaoming. How can you have the face to come here? Aren’t you embarrassed?”
“Poor my Little Coward Ma Ao, it’s already very bold of him to come here a third time. Don’t bully him for being timid.”
“Exactly, overcoming the psychological barriers from the previous two times and coming here a third time is not easy. Can’t you give him a bit of encouragement?”
“…To be honest, this haunted house is really scary. I used to say Ma Ao was a coward when I watched his live streams, but only after I went there myself did I realize what real fear is!”
“Scary +1, I predict the excitement is yet to come. Stay tuned for the twist!”
Yuan Gaoming’s fans were incredulous: “This haunted house is no threat to our Ming King at all. You’re blaming others because you’re scared?”
By then, the program had progressed to Yuan Gaoming discovering a Wooden Box hidden under a curtain. He personally went over to retrieve it.
Fans flooded the chat again: “Look, that’s my Ming King! Absolutely fearless!”
“Ma Ao is so mean. To scare Ming King, he even said the statue’s eyes were moving. I think he’s going blind.”
The camera followed Yuan Gaoming as he approached the eerie scene. A strange woman was sitting at a table, skulls hanging on the wall. Yuan Gaoming, undaunted, easily reached for the Wooden Box. Although he didn’t move it at first, he finally managed to pull the box out, only for it to be strangely pulled back, as if someone was pushing and pulling against him!
The camera switched to Yuan Gaoming’s perspective, moving with him, providing a more direct view.
Viewers, puzzled and focused on the screen, thought it was some challenge prepared by the production team. But the camera paused, then suddenly lifted, and a ghastly pale woman with gray-white eyes appeared on screen!
Her eyes, devoid of any emotion, seemed to be staring at a dead person. She stared at them, her lips curling into a sinister, malicious smile-as if she could devour someone!
“AAAAHHHH!!!”
In that instant, the unprepared viewers trembled with fear. Those watching on phones or tablets threw their devices away, and those watching on TV couldn’t turn it off fast enough, jumping a meter high and screaming for their parents.
At that moment, Yuan Gaoming’s panicked reaction deeply illustrated the viewers’ reactions, especially when that Long-haired Woman stepped forward, as if death itself had arrived…
The viewers exploded: “Holy shit, that’s so scary, run!!!”
“Damn, why is it so terrifying, I almost pissed myself!”
Those who had been to the haunted house in Amusement Park in City A and had been deeply affected spoke up: “I just peeked inside a coffin before, and I’ve been having nightmares every night. I can’t believe Yuan Gaoming and Ren Kun received such a unique and gentle package. She crawled out of the coffin and chased after them…”
“Hahaha, they said Ming King is invincible, but look who ran the fastest, tumbling and crawling-it was him. Do you still have the face to laugh at Ma Ao?!”
“…I repent, I deeply repent. I was so scared I almost peed.”
“I did too…”
The backlash came swiftly, like a tornado. With such a display, what more could be said about taking over the haunted house?
…
This segment of the broadcast was exceptionally effective because that sudden glance was truly terrifying, especially as the Long-haired Woman stepped forward, muttering, “Ya… Ya… give it back to me…”, as Ren Kun, Yuan Gaoming, Ma Ao, and He Kang were chased out of the haunted house, fleeing without choosing their paths, terrifying yet somewhat comical.
Moreover, the post-production team gave them a special feature, showing them running from the haunted house to the plaza, a sight that was both frightening and amusing to watch.
Especially when it was revealed that the ghost was chasing them because Yuan Gaoming accidentally knocked out her denture, the audience was left both shocked and amused, filling the screen with laughter.
“Kind of want to visit this haunted house now, to experience the same scares. We could have a celebrity-style fright.”
Yuan Gaoming felt like banging his head against the wall when he saw this part. No matter how many times he watched it, he still found it hard to accept, and he was a bit… scared.
He turned off the TV and decided to have a drink to calm his nerves. He figured he wasn’t the only one needing to calm down; after all, Ren Kun and the others didn’t run any slower than he did.
When Gao Cai called, Yuan Gaoming had already had a few drinks and was feeling a bit tipsy. “What’s up? Are you calling to laugh at me too?”
Gao Cai asked seriously, “Was that Long-haired Woman who scared you in the haunted house really a person?”
Yuan Gaoming replied, “Yes, we really thought she was a ghost at the time. We even went to the director, but he said she was just a person. I accidentally knocked out her denture and had to pay a thousand yuan.”
Gao Cai was silent for a moment before hanging up.
Soon after, Yuan Gaoming received calls from Jiang Wei, Li Cheng, and Sun Yiyi. He thought they were all calling to mock him and was ready to fight back, but they were all asking about the Long-haired Woman. Did they also want to seek thrills? How desperate could they be?
…
When Gu Feiyin went to work that day, she found the kind boss in an unusually good mood. During the morning meeting, he praised her specifically, “Xiao Gu, you did an excellent job, truly outstanding. You are a genius in our department. Everyone should learn from Xiao Gu.”
Gu Feiyin smiled proudly at the praise.
The kind boss continued, “Look at Xiao Gu, always remembering she’s working in a haunted house, never letting her guard down.”
The actor who played the Jiangshi and was threatened by Yuan Gaoming secretly glanced at Xiao Gu, really wanting to ask her how she managed to scare people so effortlessly, always being terrifying.
If he had to say, it was probably an innate talent.
“By the way, let’s have a dinner gathering tonight, my treat. Everyone can say what they want to eat.”
The colleagues were excited and raised their hands, “Hot Pot, let’s have Hot Pot. It’s perfect for winter!”
The kind boss decided, “Alright, Hot Pot it is.”
Hot Pot?! The kind boss was treating them to Hot Pot!
Gu Feiyin was shocked. What a great person! In her lifetime, she could finally taste the legendary Hot Pot!
Thinking about the Hot Pot dinner, she worked with extra enthusiasm, making the visitors who came for the haunted house very satisfied. Some who were more timid were scared away at the entrance, not daring to enter. They could smell a faint scent of blood, making them feel like a real ghost was waiting to devour them at the end of the haunted house.
Even those who were braver, though they were startled by the small tricks at the beginning, managed to get through. But when they stood in front of the coffin, they couldn’t handle it.
The coffin lay there quietly, but it gave them a very bad feeling, as if something was stimulating their souls, telling them to run for their lives.
“You open it.”
“No, you do it.”
“Didn’t you say the show was fake? Go ahead!”
“Didn’t you say you were brave? Hurry up!”
…
Of course, those who were a bit braver, hesitantly opened the coffin. Inside, they saw a pair of big, dark eyes staring at them, filled with a heavy scent of blood, as if they were a delicious meal ready to be served. The ghost curled her lips, the look of hunger making their scalp tingle…
The screams were enough to lift the roof, and they ran out as fast as Yuan Gaoming and the others.
Once outside, they wanted to go online and share their haunted house experience. That ghost… was truly terrifying!
By then, the internet was already buzzing. The haunted house at the Amusement Park in City A had topped the real-time trending list, with everyone discussing the ghost in the coffin. Being so scary as a human was indeed a talent.
The Red-Dressed Ghost watched another kid run away screaming and couldn’t help but click her tongue. These ignorant humans were really asking for it. Even as a ghost, she found the Long-haired Woman terrifying. She wanted to stay far away from her because the Long-haired Woman now had a similar aura to the Malevolent Ghost from the theater, who had been eaten. That ghost carried an extremely brutal and predatory aura, and the scent of blood never faded.
Although the Long-haired Woman still looked human, she was almost as scary. Just looking at her made the Red-Dressed Ghost feel like she was about to be eaten.
As a ghost, her senses were sharper, but humans, though unaware, often had very accurate sixth senses.
Fear, danger.
…
Gu Feiyin was excited and full of anticipation all day, just waiting for the Hot Pot dinner. Just thinking about it made her mouth water. For the first time, she found the workday so hard to get through…
Finally, it was time to get off work, and she could go for Hot Pot!
But the kind boss quietly told her, “Someone is looking for you. Wait a bit and get into the white 213 car outside.”
Gu Feiyin: “…” No, she wanted Hot Pot.
Gu Feiyin asked, “Can I not go?”
The kind boss smiled, “You’re really silly. It’s the ‘Winner Takes All’ crew looking for you. They want to talk to you because your performance in this episode was outstanding. They might want to offer you a job at their TV station. It’s a great opportunity!”
Gu Feiyin thought for a moment and said, “Can I go tomorrow? We’re having a dinner gathering tonight, and I want to eat Hot Pot.”
The kind boss: “…”
The kind boss looked at Gu Feiyin with a complicated expression. How could this terrifying and gloomy girl have such an unparalleled longing in her dark eyes? It seemed like Hot Pot was the most important thing. He felt a bit emotional, thinking that this scary-looking girl actually liked his team so much. It seemed he was a good leader.
He turned around, made a phone call, and after a brief conversation, hung up.
He smiled and said, “Alright, let’s go have Hot Pot.”
…
A pot of beef tallow broth was boiling vigorously in the copper pot. Picking up a piece of tripe, dipping it seven, eight, nine, ten times, then putting it in a bowl to dip in a special sesame oil sauce, mixed with cilantro, garlic, and scallions, along with finely chopped radish. Rolling it up and putting it in the mouth!
It was so delicious. She had never tasted anything so good, even better than those Malevolent Ghosts. And the marinated beef covered in chili powder, cooked for a while and then dipped in the oil sauce, was both fragrant and tender!
How could it be so tasty?
Then there was the duck intestine, dipped and cooked, then dipped in the sauce and put in the mouth, crispy and delicious. And the fish, the shrimp, the beef tripe, sausage, beef balls, duck blood, brain, enoki mushrooms, shiitake mushrooms, lotus root slices, potatoes…
Wow, this was heaven!
