He pursued me for two whole months, and Lu Xiao showed no signs of giving up. If anything, he became even more love-brained.

My bestie specifically asked me out to dinner, practically begging for my seduction secrets.

“How on earth did you hook this guy? I’ve known him for over twenty years, and I have never seen him like this!”

I was bewildered. “I didn’t hook him.”

“I don’t believe you.”

“I really didn’t. He’s the one pursuing me, and he won’t take no for an answer.”

This only made my bestie more curious.

“Lu Xiao is rich, handsome, a total god among men. Why won’t you say yes?”

“Look, he’s been waiting outside for half an hour just to drive you home tonight.”

She pointed through the restaurant’s glass window.

I looked over.

Lu Xiao was indeed waiting outside. Tall and long-limbed, he was blessed with impossibly good looks. He was leaning casually against an Aston Martin, his gaze fixed directly on me inside the car. His eyes were burning.

Undeniably a god among men.

And so clingy I wanted to stick him in a corner with a mousetrap.

I slowly turned back, bit my lower lip, and was about to speak when my phone buzzed.

It was a text from Lu Xiao.

[Why are you biting your lip? Want me to kiss you?]
