His Wedding Countdown, My Death Countdown - Chapter 22
Qin Yuan and I rented a house by Erhai Lake.
We also hired a local auntie to live with us.
She was responsible for cleaning and cooking three meals a day.
The auntie was a local, a bit plump, but very kind and extremely efficient in her work.
She always fussed about how both of us were too skinny, saying it made her heart ache, and then she would painstakingly research recipes to cook for us.
Today, she made Dongpo Pork.
Tomorrow, she would try Snowy Bean Paste.
In truth, I couldn’t eat anything anymore.
But I couldn’t bear to reject the auntie’s goodwill, so I forced myself to eat a couple of bites each time.
Then I would go to the bathroom and vomit for a long time.
The woman in the mirror grew increasingly gaunt, her cheeks slightly sunken, which made her eyes appear larger.
“Qin Yuan,” I called her over, “do you think I have a bony beauty now?”
She stood next to me.
Also terribly thin.
She laughed, “I’m about the same. We look like a pair of skeleton spirits.”
