His Secret Text - Chapter 22
He Chen – Extra 3
By the time I was released from prison, I was almost sixty years old.
My hair was completely white, my whole figure hunched and unrecognizable.
My parents had long since passed away, and the He’s Group was now under my younger brother’s control. He had someone bring me back to the He Family.
I wasn’t in a hurry to go back.
Instead, I followed an address and found a place.
I did nothing.
I quietly waited the whole morning.
Until a sweet, delicate voice appeared:
“Grandma, you’re almost sixty now. You’re the elder, so don’t fight me for my ice cream.”
The little one earnestly lectured her beautiful grandmother, whose hand she was holding.
Meng Shang blinked, her tone pitiful: “But I want to eat it.”
“Then go ask Grandpa. Let Grandpa buy it for you.”
“Sigh, he won’t.”
The little one was shocked: “Grandma is so beautiful, and Grandpa still won’t spend money on you? You should run away from home.”
Meng Shang nodded: “Okay!”
Just as the two were plotting when to run away from home, a man appeared behind them: “Meng Shangshang, what bad things are you saying about me again?”
“I didn’t say anything, it was your adorable granddaughter.”
Meng Shang pushed her little granddaughter in front of the man.
The little one righteously said, “Grandpa, why won’t you buy Grandma ice cream? Grandma is so, so beautiful, don’t you like her?”
Meng Shang nodded in agreement.
The man looked at the older one, then at the younger one.
He sighed helplessly.
“I’ll give you some at home.”
Meng Shang instantly beamed with joy, looking even more beautiful.
The man dotingly held her hand:
Making his friends’ jaws drop in shock.
The three of them walked away hand in hand, farther and farther.
He Chen watched Meng Shang’s back for a long, long time.
Meng Shang was clearly the same age as me, but she still looked as beautiful as she did at eighteen.
And compared to when she was with me, she seemed even more sweet and adorable.
It was obvious that she must have lived very well these years.
I suddenly remembered many years ago, in that empty corridor, every word Meng Shang said:
“He Chen, do you really think you’re worthy of me now?”
Meng Shang was always right.
I really didn’t deserve her.
