Chapter 11
“Do you feel like you’re punching a pillow, powerless and frustrated? He’s doing it on purpose!”
I curled my lips and downed the drink in my glass in one go.
“I know.”
Maybe I didn’t realize it at first.
But by now, I’ve tasted the bitterness.
Jiang Ye has always been someone who holds grudges intensely.
His attitude towards people and things is: I’m not wrong! Even if I am, what can you do about it?
I understand him.
I had anticipated how he might react to me.
But even though I was prepared, his nonchalant attitude still got to me.
My hand holding the wine glass trembled slightly.
“I thought, I thought I could at least get an apology!”
We always hope for genuine remorse from those who wronged us, as if only then can our wounds be soothed.
Otherwise, it’s hard to let go!
From his eighteenth to his twenty-eighth year, ten years.
That was my ten years too.
I went from being an outsider to being deeply involved, it was he who pulled me into the game.
When he loved me, he gave me sweetness.
When he no longer did, he tore me apart.
He owes me an apology.
The repeated torment of negative emotions left me somewhat out of control.
I took two days off.
Stayed at home, went nowhere.
I cried, cursed, broke down.
In the end, I calmed down.
Because of a call from my boss.
He said there were adjustments in the contract data and to modify it quickly.
I opened my computer and threw myself into work.
Two hours later, I sent over the revised contract.
“President Zhang will come next Wednesday, you come with me!”
“Alright!”
After finishing all this, I sat back on the sofa, suddenly feeling a bit lost.
Was it really that painful?
Jiang Ye was my own choice.
No one forced me, no one threatened me.
Knowing all that happened afterwards, I should, bear the gains and losses.
If I can afford to gamble, I should be able to afford to lose.
So Su He, can’t you afford to lose?
No!
I can afford to lose!
