Chapter 20
This is the third time I’ve brought up divorce.
And it will be the last.
I lower my gaze and straighten the wrinkled jacket.
I glance at the suitcase he’s still desperately hiding behind his back.
Forget it.
Out with the old, in with the new.
“I’m not asking for your opinion, I’m informing you.”
“Since you have this attitude, I’ll have the secretary deliver the signed agreement directly to your office.”
“One week from now, see you at the Civil Affairs Bureau.”
He still wants to make me stay.
But I’ve really had enough of his crocodile tears and his false face.
“Zhou Heng, let’s part ways amicably. I can still barely respect your so-called nonchalance.”
“In this relationship, I only care about two things: one was the you from the past, but unfortunately that’s already rotten through. The other is myself.”
“I don’t love you anymore, so you can’t hurt me.”
I pause, my gaze slowly sweeping over him:
“But you’re different. You have a weakness.”
“I’m giving you one week-otherwise, as for Zhu Wanwan’s child, who knows if it’ll still be around.”
His face suddenly flushes red:
“Shu Yan! You-!”
I curve my eyes, gently reminding him:
“As your ex-wife, let me give you one last piece of advice: the day your mother had her episode, you weren’t by her side.”
“If I’ve got the dates right, at that time you were with Zhu Wanwan… nurturing a new life.”
“I hope that in the future, when you have an episode, your so-called flesh and blood will be there at your bedside, instead of being like your mother-who had only her husband by her side. Forget about grandchildren, even her son wasn’t there.”
