Good Night, Mr. Ghost - Chapter 60
Mr. Ghost smirked with confidence, “No worries, give me an hour.” He picked up the phone and made a call. “Hmm, there’s supposed to be an internal meeting this afternoon, right? Push it to tomorrow. Yes, that’s right. Done.” Then Mr. Ghost began to focus intently on his tasks.
Jiang Chenyi also slowly looked through the files in his hands. Although he didn’t quite understand them, he just scanned them, identifying any discrepancies. By lunchtime, the man had completed all his tasks.
Jiang Chenyi watched Mr. Ghost, who was beaming with joy, and fell silent. Could it be that all the previous work was just a product of inefficiency? Hmm, impressive.
Meng Loudi didn’t care what Jiang was thinking; being able to go out and have fun with Jiang Chenyi was what made him happy. So, Jiang was wrapped up in a scarf, bundled up tightly, and taken out of Ba Lin Building.
Meng Loudi was still wearing his stern and ascetic suit, holding the young man’s hand and looking at the navigation on his phone. After more than a year of adaptation, Mr. Ghost had become accustomed to modern human life, solving most problems with his phone.
Jiang followed closely and asked, “Mr. Ghost, why do you want to go to the amusement park?”
Mr. Ghost walked alongside him, leaning in sneakily to whisper in his ear, “Because there’s a legend, isn’t there? That lovers who kiss at the top of the Ferris wheel will be together forever.”
“Hahaha, are you a child? You believe that?” Jiang Chenyi laughed. Surprisingly innocent.
Mr. Ghost’s handsome face darkened, leaving a faint bite mark on the young man’s cheek, “Why can’t I believe it? Doesn’t Chenyi believe it?”
“I believe, I believe! I believe.” Jiang looked at him, his eyes full of joy. This was Mr. Ghost’s hope for their future, wishing they could be together forever.
Two grown men holding hands in the amusement park were quite eye-catching. But Jiang was shameless, and Mr. Ghost didn’t care about other people’s gazes. They tried everything one by one.
After getting off the roller coaster, Jiang felt like he was close to death, trembling as Mr. Ghost helped him off the ride. Meng Loudi looked at the pale young man with some concern.
“Chenyi? Are you okay?”
“I’m fine, I’m fine, let me catch my breath.” Jiang leaned on his shoulder, smiling, “I thought it wouldn’t be a big deal, but I didn’t expect it to be so terrifying.”
The rapid spinning, dropping, and rising made Jiang Chenyi almost think he would end his life on the roller coaster. Jiang sighed, “This is my first time at an amusement park.”
“Mine too,” Mr. Ghost replied happily.
The young man smiled, “But I did have a relationship once, well, not really, just spent some time with a girl.”
Meng Loudi was so jealous he could die from the sourness, but his expression remained gentle. He helped Jiang sit on a bench.
Jiang began to recount his tragic pseudo-first love. “I don’t even know if it counts as a relationship. You know, I look pretty good.” Jiang flashed a big smile, “That junior might have just been after my looks, then pursued me like crazy. After two days, I decided to give it a try, and then I found it didn’t work.”
The young man started counting on his fingers, “You know, girls can be clingy and love to act cute, but I really didn’t want to chat with her three times a day. Her messages had to be replied to instantly, but I had games to play and homework to do. I couldn’t always be with her. We’re adults, why can’t we be more independent?
That time was a nightmare. I had to accompany her shopping, studying, and even help her with homework, rejecting invitations from buddies, not allowed to go to internet cafes, not allowed to play games.
Meng Loudi, you know, after more than ten days of being together, that girl actually asked me, ‘Do you want the game or me?!’ I was really going crazy.”
His face showed a tragic expression, making a beheading gesture. “Then I said, can’t remember exactly, but basically said, the game is my main wife, you’re my side wife, I don’t want you anymore.”
Saying this, Jiang laughed, reaching out to touch Mr. Ghost’s chin. “So, Mr. Ghost, you let me play games, you’re really a good person. My pursuit of the perfect lover.”
“Hahaha, is Chenyi’s pursuit so simple?” Mr. Ghost laughed.
But indeed, given Jiang Chenyi’s gaming habits, not letting him play would be a disaster. “Yeah, the pursuit isn’t much, just companionship between two people, keeping a distance where both are comfortable, and going out to play when there’s time. That’s great.” Jiang stretched his legs, tilted his head, leaned on Meng Loudi’s shoulder, and intertwined their fingers.
“But maybe it’s because I didn’t like her, so I couldn’t even say a proper goodbye.”
The young man looked at him, snorted, “I’m just a playboy.”
For people he wasn’t interested in, he really didn’t care. Not even regret or pity.
“Chenyi isn’t a playboy. Chenyi is a great lover.” Meng Loudi patted his head, comforting him.
“Really?” The young man smirked.
Mr. Ghost pulled Jiang Chenyi up, “Of course, so, Chenyi, let’s go ride the Ferris wheel.”
They bought tickets at the booth. The staff watched the two men get on the Ferris wheel without changing their expression. Jiang sighed in relief. No matter what, he still hoped not to receive strange looks from others.
Mr. Ghost held Jiang Chenyi’s fingers tightly, feeling the height rising. As they were about to reach the top, Mr. Ghost kissed him, very gently, very passionately. Jiang closed his eyes, responding to him.
Then they kissed until the door opened. As the door opened, they finally separated. Jiang looked at Mr. Ghost’s face, showing a mischievous smile, his expression sly.
“What’s up, Mr. Ghost, planning something naughty?”
Mr. Ghost held his hand, gracefully leading him out, saying as they walked, “Chenyi knows very well what naughty thing I want to do.”
It was already late, past four o’clock. Mr. Ghost had no interest in continuing to queue; those lines were so long, so long, so long.
“Chenyi, shall we go home?”
“Sure.”
“Alright, I’ll cook for you when we get back. What do you want to eat, sweet and sour ribs?”
“Great! And make some cola chicken wings too.” Jiang started ordering.
The two returned home, busying themselves in the kitchen. Occasionally exchanging smiles, every move was sweet. Once the food was ready, they filled their stomachs. Sitting in the lobby, watching TV.
To build their relationship, Mr. Ghost had meticulously prepared a fruit platter, and they ate while watching. They were watching a horror movie, ghost-themed. Jiang wasn’t afraid at all, watching with great interest, along with post-dinner fruit.
Honestly, he suspected Meng Loudi wanted to pamper him, make him unable to live independently, so Jiang would become Mr. Ghost’s canary. Jiang ate grapes, casually feeding Mr. Ghost a few.
In this season, fruit was expensive, but Mr. Ghost was wealthy, not caring about money. Back then, they relied on Jiang’s salary to live frugally, but now they were so extravagant. But it was fun. Hehe, Jiang enjoyed the beauty’s service so much he almost forgot himself.
Then, the floor-to-ceiling window was knocked on. Jiang looked over and saw a beautiful woman standing at the window, blood dripping from her neck, holding her head, giving him a soul-stealing smile. Truly soul-stealing.
Jiang was almost scared half to death. Anyone would be terrified to see such a woman at their window, neck bleeding, holding her head, blood dripping. Especially since Jiang knew she was a ghost!
The visitor was none other than Shen Baihe. She stood at the window with a charming smile, elegant and noble. Then Jiang invited her in.
Mr. Ghost knew she was outside from the start, but knowing was one thing; he had no interest and didn’t want to divide his attention to this fool. Shen Baihe sat gracefully on a chair, blood flowing down her body, making the young man nervous. If someone else saw this, who knows what they’d think!
The woman faced Meng Loudi’s almost murderous gaze, speaking gently, “Because of what happened before, our haunted house was confiscated, and those two scoundrels were sentenced, supposedly doing community service to atone, but it’s joyful because with the organization’s help, we can survive better. And I have nowhere to go. They said there’s no need for a ghost with a broken neck. All because of that scoundrel.”
Shen Baihe, with her heavily made-up face, maintained a gentle and kind smile, speaking softly, using ‘scoundrel’ to refer to Chen Zhiyan and Cui Yulou. Is this the demeanor of a noblewoman from a big family? If Chen Zhiyan were here, there would definitely be a fight.
Jiang maintained a smile. Mr. Ghost looked at her, lazily leaning on Jiang, saying, “Then what are you doing here?”
Shen Baihe kept her noblewoman smile, politely saying, “Because I have nowhere else to go.”
“Oh, then what do you mean, Madam Shen?” Mr. Ghost reached out, touching his lover’s earlobe. Jiang Chenyi’s earlobe was a bit thin, soft to the touch, and when Mr. Ghost’s fingers rubbed it, half his face turned red.
Shen Baihe watched the two being lovey-dovey, feeling a pang of jealousy. She wanted to touch too! How could he be so cute~ Chenyi, she wanted Chenyi too. Everything in the illusion was her experience, and although she had to accept the past’s outcome, she was still very angry. But Jiang Chenyi’s appearance calmed her anger. Even knowing she’d experience everything again, as long as she saw Jiang Chenyi’s smile, she’d be satisfied~
If only Chen Zhiyan and Cui Yulou weren’t so weak, unable to devour that male ghost, maybe Jiang Chenyi would be hers……
With her mind in turmoil, the female ghost still showed a gentle smile, “Because I really have nowhere else to go, I can only seek refuge with Mr. Jiang.”
Jiang Chenyi tried to ignore his lover’s fingers, and hearing her words, he was taken aback. “Me?”
“Yes, Mr. Jiang will surely take me in, right?” Shen Baihe showed an expectant expression.
Meng Loudi suddenly sat up, looking at Shen Baihe, his gaze cold, “No way, don’t even think about it.”
“Loudi.” Jiang tugged at his clothes.
Mr. Ghost instantly changed his expression, soft and vulnerable, looking pitifully at the young man, pointing at the female ghost, “Chenyi, she definitely has bad intentions, we can’t keep her.”
Today, if they keep this female ghost, he’ll eat her! After all, there can only be one ghost in this house!
