Good Night, Mr. Ghost - Chapter 58
“Alright, you two have finished talking, haven’t you? Lead us out. That mirror is the key to this illusion, right?”
Mr. Ghost leisurely withdrew the pressure he had placed on Chen Zhiyan, calmly instructing him to get to work.
Chen Zhiyan got up from the floor, holding the child’s hand, and headed towards Meng Loudi’s room.
Jiang Chenyi thought he needed to follow, but unexpectedly, Mr. Ghost embraced him, affectionately saying, “No need to go over there. Once he opens the illusion, we can leave. Chenyi, remember everything you said here.”
Jiang Chenyi felt the space distort, and after a strange ripple, he found himself standing before a giant mirror.
In the mirror, four figures were visible: Jiang Chenyi, Meng Loudi, and the ancient-looking Chen Zhiyan and Cui Yulou.
Jiang remembered everything.
In that bizarre illusion, he had become a poor student kept by Shen Baihe, and not only did he betray Shen Baihe, but he also got involved with her cousin.
And then, damn it, what did he agree to?
Wait, did he betray Shen Baihe or his own Mr. Ghost?
Really, he’s doomed.
Jiang Chenyi stared blankly ahead.
Today, Jiang faced a major turning point in his life.
Should he crash into a wall and die in the haunted house, or go home and die in bed?
Trying to maintain a smile.
Mr. Ghost watched Jiang’s expression shift from confusion to terror, then to sorrow, and he was delighted.
So adorable.
He turned the young man’s face and kissed his lips, saying, “I understand Chenyi’s feelings. Chenyi understands mine too, right? Though I’d love to hear Chenyi’s words, let’s talk when we get home.”
Turning to the two ghosts standing nearby, Meng Loudi’s expression changed again, his smile not reaching his eyes, “Hand over those idiots to me, and wait here. If you try to run, you’re dead.”
Having witnessed the true strength of the chief, Chen Zhiyan dared not speak up, leading Cui Yulou out the door.
Jiang Chenyi also left with Mr. Ghost.
Upon exiting, he noticed the headless corpse was gone.
The young man was puzzled.
Then the door next to them opened.
A graceful woman walked out, holding her head, looking quite troubled.
If he could ignore the blood still flowing from her neck, Jiang might have praised her beauty.
But Jiang couldn’t ignore it!
Why is this woman still alive?
Shen Baihe emerged, and Chen Zhiyan’s expression darkened, looking at her with disdain, “Why are you coming out?”
Shen Baihe struggled to steady her head, ignoring him, lightly touching her neck, sighing, “This blood has been flowing for over a hundred years, why won’t it stop?”
She glanced at Jiang Chenyi, her eyes brightening, a somewhat exaggerated smile on her lips, reaching out with her blood-stained hand, “Mr. Jiang, you…”
Mr. Ghost, displeased with the woman’s persistence, narrowed his eyes.
Shen Baihe shivered, awkwardly standing still, retracting her hand.
“Ah, you’re really fierce.” The woman smiled gently at Jiang Chenyi.
She didn’t seem like the poisoner who would kill others.
So Jiang asked.
“Madam Shen, why did you poison Yulou?”
He could understand poisoning Chen Zhiyan, but why poison the child Cui Yulou?
Shen Baihe smirked, her eyes contemptuous, looking at the boy, “Why? Because this kid had bad intentions. Honestly, if I didn’t kill him quickly, I’d be finished. Of course, Chen Zhiyan ending up like this was unexpected.”
She used her delicate hand to touch her crimson lips, “Ah, fate is cruel.”
Chen Zhiyan sneered, “So why don’t you just die sooner?”
He didn’t want to face this woman’s nauseating face every day.
Shen Baihe chuckled, “Die? I’m so beautiful, I won’t die!”
Her face turned gloomy, gritting her teeth, “I lost my husband young, trapped in this lousy house, that old hag wouldn’t let me go! If not for her, I wouldn’t be like this!”
The woman breathed heavily, then her head fell off.
It fell.
Off.
Gone.
Jiang Chenyi felt he was just a step away from death.
The woman’s head rolled on the ground, tears streaming down.
She was disheveled, utterly miserable.
Her crying wasn’t delicate like pear blossoms in the rain, but filled with despair.
Shen Baihe’s head cried, “Who wants to live such a life! I studied abroad, saw the world, not to bury my life in this mansion! I, I don’t even have love, sob sob.”
Tears dripped, looking pitiful.
Cui Yulou watched his aunt cry miserably, his small face cold.
No matter what this woman did, she was the murderer who killed them.
Mr. Ghost looked at the sobbing female ghost, feeling annoyed.
The young man sighed, walked over, picked up the head, and reattached it.
Really, just a woman driven mad.
Outwardly glamorous, but internally shattered.
No way to blame her.
The only ones qualified to blame her were the two ghosts over there.
“Stop crying, you’re still beautiful, surely someone will love you.” The young man consoled.
The female ghost wiped her tears, looking at the young man, touched, “Chenyi, I really like you, sob sob. If I could, I’d want to be with you.”
If it weren’t for that terrifying ghost, she’d definitely cling to Jiang Chenyi!
If Meng Loudi could, so could she!
Mr. Ghost’s face darkened, coldly stabbing, “Yeah, stop crying. You’ll be in jail soon, cry then.”
“Sob sob sob.” Shen Baihe cried even louder.
Jiang looked at Mr. Ghost, whose face said “I’m not happy, come over here, stay away from that damn woman,” and laughed.
Jealous.
Uh, wait, if he annoys Mr. Ghost further, can he still get up tomorrow?
For his future, Jiang decisively abandoned Shen Baihe, moving to Mr. Ghost’s side.
“Alright, alright, let’s quickly resolve this. What time is it now?”
Jiang pulled out his phone, it was already midnight.
Three hours.
But they spent a long time in that illusion.
Is the time flow different?
“Mr. Ghost, I’m tired, I want to sleep. Let’s hurry up, okay?” The young man looked at the clock, starting to feel sleepy.
Mr. Ghost looked at his previously punctual, longevity-seeking lover.
His eyes filled with anger, glaring at the three idiots over there.
If it weren’t for them, Chenyi would be sleeping soundly now!
Damn it.
Meng Loudi held his lover, “Mm, it’ll be over soon, ten more minutes and we’ll be home. Go release them!”
Treating Jiang Chenyi, the young man’s voice was gentle, treating them like mortal enemies, cold as autumn leaves.
“Okay.” The man hurried to the dining room, the group rushed in.
Chen Zhiyan opened a nearby cabinet, revealing its contents.
Inside were several supernatural beings, tightly bound, whining as soon as the door opened.
The man dragged them out, “Ate one, the rest are here.”
Cui Yulou timidly looked at Jiang Chenyi, whispered, “A rabbit was eaten.”
Jiang thought, if Brownish were here, she’d definitely explode.
Mr. Ghost walked over, picked up the string of supernatural beings, dragging them on the ground, then wrapped his arm around the young man’s waist, leaving a message, “You three, stay here. We’re leaving, someone will come by tomorrow at the latest.”
Meng Loudi’s eyes held intimidation, sweeping over the three, smiling coldly, “If you dare run, you’re dead.”
Committed a crime, and dare to run.
That’s truly courting death.
Shen Baihe held her head, the other two ghosts leaned together, nodding.
The two left.
Mr. Ghost grabbed the bunch of supernatural beings, tossing them towards Qing Sui, “It’s resolved, send someone tomorrow to handle it, okay?”
The bird demon nodded frantically.
The two demons’ eyes were filled with admiration.
“Yes, Mr. Chief!”
Mr. Ghost bent down, lifting the young man, “We’re going home, any issues can wait until tomorrow.”
Qing Sui and Huang Bu’er nodded frantically.
Watching them fly away.
Jiang Chenyi was once again carried through the air.
Feeling the cold wind rushing past his ears, the young man closed his eyes, feeling utterly at peace.
A very serene feeling.
Even though only a few hours had passed, they spent days in the illusion, still a bit mentally exhausted.
Nestled in his lover’s embrace, Jiang heard his words.
“Chenyi, do you remember?”
“What?”
“Do your words not count anymore? Or are you going to renege~” Amidst the wind, the man’s voice remained clear.
Jiang quickly recalled their previous conversations.
“That doesn’t count! You deliberately tricked me!” The young man grabbed his collar, determined to deny it.
Mr. Ghost chuckled silently.
Meng Loudi held him tightly, and soon they landed at home.
The broken window still stood conspicuously.
Mr. Ghost frowned, muttering, “Fix it tomorrow, it’s late today. Chenyi, let’s go to sleep.”
Jiang safely landed, looking at his lover, still as adorable as ever, quietly exhaled.
The two washed up and went to bed.
It was past midnight, Jiang was truly tired.
Previously controlled by Mr. Ghost’s daily routine, he was used to sleeping at ten and waking at seven, a healthy lifestyle.
Really.
What era is this, a twenty-six-year-old young man avoiding late nights.
Jiang looked at the beauty nearby, smiling, “Mr. Ghost, goodnight.”
Meng Loudi stared at him, “So, still reneging?”
Jiang Chenyi shivered, looking at the man with wide eyes.
Mr. Ghost played with his long hair, casually watching the young man, teasing his skin with the tips.
“Mm~ Chenyi? Going to renege?”
The man smiled at him.
Jiang didn’t want to speak.
This man was like a cold snake, slithering over, nose brushing against Jiang’s.
“Speak up, Chenyi.” The man kissed the young man’s lips, entwining them.
Mr. Ghost released him, kneeling above Jiang.
“Chenyi, can you speak now?”
