Good Night, Mr. Ghost - Chapter 115 - The Final Conclusion
Meng Loudi floated in mid-air, glancing at his watch, “It’s already midnight, time to go.”
Meng Loudi floated in mid-air, glancing at his watch, “It’s already midnight, time to go.”
This was what they had agreed upon.
The man, like an illusion, rushed into the circle of light.
The formation showed slight fluctuations.
Lumina Mirror clenched her fists, nervously looking upwards.
A long crack appeared in the sky.
It was as if a sleeping person had opened their bewildered eyes.
What followed was spirit energy pouring down like sweet dew.
Lumina Mirror felt the spirit energy impacting her body, tears falling down.
“It succeeded, it succeeded, from now on, no one will die.”
Brownish also showed a happy expression.
Next, only the three of them would die.
Located here, they would become sacrifices.
Watching the crack slowly expand.
Then, a shadow swept across mid-air, abducting Jiang Chenyi.
“No!!!” Lumina Mirror screamed.
Bao’er looked at the crack with his hands behind his back, saying, “I know you’ve been avoiding me, so now speak clearly. I don’t know why you want to drive the demon clan to a dead end, nor do I know what you want to become in the future, but Heavenly Dao, now that it’s like this, can’t you give us a chance? An Eye of the Lunar Halo, the vital essence of ancient artifacts, and the key, aren’t these enough to open the spiritual power fountainhead?”
With the sacrifice lost, the eyes in the sky seemed hesitant, then slowly began to close.
Brownish knelt to the ground, she knew very well, they had no chance.
The two of them couldn’t take Jiang Chenyi away from Meng Loudi.
Held protectively in Mr. Ghost’s arms, Jiang relaxed slightly, saying, “Ah, you came just in time, a bit more and the lunar halo in my right eye would have disappeared.”
He smiled.
His right eye still shimmered with brilliance, but the left eye had lost its luster, returning to the appearance of a normal person.
Mr. Ghost took off the jade ring from his wrist, slipped it onto his lover’s wrist, and kissed his forehead tenderly, saying, “Of course, I restrained myself very hard, according to the agreement, to come and get you at that time.”
“Next, it’s Bao’er’s matter.” Jiang sighed with relief.
Back then, after they came out of the illusion in the yin-yang lumina mirror, Bao’er had sought them out.
In a dream.
Though it was absurd, Bao’er managed it.
He told them all the possibilities he had divined and planned in great detail.
A magnificent shadow appeared in mid-air, it was the white-haired young demon–Bao’er.
Bao’er looked at the sky and said loudly, “Heavenly Dao, stand there for me!”
The crack in the sky paused, then tried even more urgently to close.
Bao’er glared at the sky above, anger mixed in his red-gold eyes.
“Can’t understand words, huh?!”
The crack hesitated upon hearing this, reluctantly stopping.
Finally, a voice came from the crack.
“Bao’er, you are not a part of this world, you don’t need to bear any responsibility for this world. The path I choose is the path they should walk, this doesn’t need further explanation, does it? I am the heavenly Dao, what the heavenly Dao says is the law.”
The voice was indistinguishable in gender or age, merely a vague sound.
Jiang held onto Mr. Ghost’s neck, listening to the conversation between the two.
Bao’er sighed, saying, “I am not a part of this world, but I belong here, don’t I?”
The heavenly Dao said no more.
“Then, I give my key to you, let us make a choice.”
“What? But without the key, Bao’er, you can only stay here, never able to leave, have you really thought it through? Originally, three thousand worlds, you could roam freely!”
Bao’er tilted his head, “That’s right, we were originally beings of the same level, but, heavenly Dao, I want to stay, I don’t want to continue wandering, I want to stay.”
He smiled.
“If everything can proceed smoothly, my two most cherished treasures can return to my side, can’t they?”
A cyan shadow appeared before Bao’er.
It was a vague glow, floating in mid-air, like a jellyfish in the deep sea, emitting a mesmerizing halo.
“Will you not regret it?” the heavenly Dao asked.
Bao’er: “I won’t, drawing a prison with my heart willing.”
That key was the symbol of his freedom, since he was determined to hand over the key, it meant.
He truly was willing to be imprisoned here.
The heavenly Dao was conflicted, not knowing what to say to him.
Bao’er reached out, summoning the saber to his hand, handing it to the heavenly Dao.
“Take it, then give us a chance.”
The heavenly Dao extended a small tendril, accepting the saber, “Then, I’ll give you all a chance, Bao’er, this chance is exchanged with your life.”
After speaking, the heavenly Dao turned and ran.
“I naturally understand.” Bao’er watched the heavenly Dao leave, lightly landing on the ground.
Lumina Mirror crouched on the ground, wailing.
Bao’er picked up the little girl, amused and helpless, asking, “Why are you crying? Isn’t not dying a good thing?”
Lumina Mirror raised her fist, pounding the boy’s chest, “It’s not good! If we lose, Bao’er-Ge will be trapped here! Clearly, clearly an unrestrained existence, how can it become like this!”
“Don’t cry, don’t cry, but, there’s no choice, is there? We must make a choice. Compared to freedom, you all are more important to me.”
Brownish stood still, staring at her own bleeding wound, biting her lips hard.
A pure white deer trampled on auspicious clouds in mid-air, descending before her and transforming into a man in white.
Brownish stood there, uneasy. “Mr. Bai.”
“Are you alright? I just found out, Brownish, what on earth were you thinking?” Bai Lu pulled her into a tight embrace, holding his little rabbit close.
He had almost lost his little rabbit.
“I’m sorry, I’m sorry, I just… I just didn’t want to see Mr. Bai…” Brownish buried her face in the man’s chest, sobbing uncontrollably.
Jiang Chenyi and Mr. Ghost exchanged a smile.
For now, this ending was not too bad.
Meng Loudi gently stroked his eyes, his voice tinged with worry: “Losing a lunar halo shouldn’t be much of a problem, right?”
“It should be fine.” Jiang wrapped his arms around his lover’s neck, rubbing against him. “Don’t worry.”
Above them, a massive rift opened, and streams of white breath poured out endlessly.
That was the spiritual power fountainhead, sealed for a millennium.
Entangled on the bed by Hu Linzhi, Qing Hua’s expression shifted. It was a strange sensation, as if a traveler parched for ages had suddenly been blessed with sweet rain.
The fox spirit felt it too.
He rose, pressing a kiss to the chief’s lips, smiling with a sorrowful joy. “It’s wonderful, Qing Hua, you don’t have to die now.”
At that moment, almost all supernatural beings looked up to the sky, to the place where the sweet rain descended.
A new era was about to begin.
A coffin buried in the ocean suddenly burst open, a long sword spiraling up through the water, trailing a clear stream behind it.
Within the mountains, a pair of golden eyes suddenly snapped open, a long and lingering dragon’s roar echoing, shaking half the rivers and mountains.
Bao’er, cradling the little girl, watched the two beams of light shooting toward him. The corners of his mouth turned up, forming a silly grin.
A man in blue descended first, sweeping the boy into his arms. Seeing the little girl wedged between them, he displayed a look of surprise.
“Bao’er, when did you give me a child?”
Lumina mirror glared at the roguish-faced man, huffing angrily, stretching out her little paw to push him away. “I’m not your child!”
Before Bao’er could respond, someone else pulled him away.
A golden-haired young man hugged Bao’er, glaring at the man in blue. “Stay away from Bao’er!”
“No way! Golden Dragon, get lost!”
Jiang wrapped his arms around his lover’s neck, watching the ruckus over there.
Mr. Ghost looked at the young man carrying the long sword on his back and asked, “Is that your ancestor?”
“Maybe. But for now, let’s take the kids home. I’m afraid things are going to be turbulent for a while.”
Jiang Chenyi suggested.
With the eye of spirit energy open again, he could well imagine the chaos to come.
Just as Jiang predicted.
All over the world, news outlets reported on the sudden enormous rift in the sky, and for a time, people were plunged into panic.
The Jiang Family reached out to various hidden clans, deciding to begin communication.
No matter what, the era had already begun to change.
Humankind would have to accept these changes.
Jiang Chenyi rested his head on Mr. Ghost’s lap, watching the news.
Now, they had already started explaining the existence of the Alliance of Supernatural Beings to ordinary people.
He believed the nation would handle this matter well.
Meng Loudi stroked his hair. “By the way, the previous shopkeeper, grandmother, sent us a message. Chenyi, when are you going back to the Jiang Family?”
“Grandma already asked? Of course I have to go back. I’ll bring the three of them and see if Grandma can help.” Jiang sat up abruptly.
Meng Jiang was there, nudging the little sparrow, angering it once again.
Jiang Meng crouched on the back of the sofa, looking down at everyone. Now, Jiang Meng was the greatest being in the house!
“Alright.” Mr. Ghost took his lover’s hand, kissing it gently.
Jiang gazed at him and kissed him.
From now on, everything would become beautiful for them.
Meng Loudi scooped him up and carried him upstairs.
The two tumbled onto the bed.
Jiang blinked, brushing his lover’s eyebrows and eyes, smiling softly. “Good night, Mr. Ghost.”
Good night, my Mr. Ghost.
Night had already fallen, but the moonlight remained.
Supernatural beings began to move, and the world started shifting in another direction.
As for the future–who could say?
