Chapter 3
I immediately made a reservation at a restaurant and introduced her to my husband, Zhang Yizhi.
During the meal, I couldn’t stop bragging about how outstanding Zhang Yizhi was: a top tech company R&D position, high salary and benefits, good character and looks.
Zhang Yizhi gave me a doting smile.
Li Shiyu’s smile was barely holding up-
She had previously tried to probe, asking if my husband was much older or unattractive.
But she didn’t expect Zhang Yizhi to be tall and long-legged, handsome, wealthy, and devoted to his wife.
What’s even more fatal, he looked extremely young.
I heard her mutter to herself:
“How come all the good things happen to her…
“Why is that…”
Then, she didn’t even bother to hide her intentions and asked to add Zhang Yizhi on WeChat right in front of me.
Zhang Yizhi agreed readily.
While scanning the code, Li Shiyu gave me a provocative smile.
But she didn’t notice that Zhang Yizhi and I exchanged a glance and quickly looked away.
That night, I used the excuse of “catching a flight abroad for vacation” to leave the two of them alone.
I was very clear about what would happen next:
Li Shiyu was attractive enough, and Zhang Yizhi was fairly satisfied.
Over the next few days, they would probably “see each other” frequently.
Besides trying to win over Zhang Yizhi, Li Shiyu also took advantage of my absence to ingratiate herself with my daughter and Mother-in-law.
She desperately tried to get close to them, probing their preferences:
My daughter attends a prestigious high school and likes imported pretty loose-leaf notebooks, highlighters, and all kinds of limited-edition stationery;
My Mother-in-law, retired from a government office, loves expensive health supplements, as well as gold and jade bracelets.
Li Shiyu served them carefully, spending a lot of money buying gifts for them.
Zhang Yizhi was very pleased with her, letting her wear my silk pajamas and taking her to our marital bed for passionate nights.
Li Shiyu thought she had won for sure.
To serve this family better, she quit her job, not even asking for n+1 compensation.
However, the day before I returned, my daughter looked at Li Shiyu, who was about to put on an apron to cook, and frowned:
“Auntie, why are you still here?”
