Full-Time Lady - Chapter 14
Extra
I often fantasize about being Wu Yongan.
But in reality, I am Li Shiyu, the one who was completely fooled.
I haven’t managed to come up with a new video plan, and I’m still working as a hand double, shooting Yongan’s “devoted wife” skits.
…Maybe I really don’t have a talent for making videos.
But my own experiences make me want to do something.
Every day, seeing the comments in the video section fills me with guilt:
“I really want to go home and be a devoted wife. Work is so exhausting.”
“Did you see that, girls? It’s better to marry well than to work hard!”
“Wishing, wishing, please give me a handsome, rich, and loving husband like the blogger’s!”
I get so anxious that I break out in cold sores, but I can’t change Yongan’s filming direction.
When I use an alt account to reason with the fans, I get scolded as a “jealous rich lady”-Jealous of what? That’s me in the videos!
When one plan failed, I came up with another. I started trying to write stories.
I heard that short stories have a lower threshold than long ones, so I began writing on Zhihu in my spare time.
After more than a month of on-and-off writing and several rounds of revisions, I finished the fourteen chapters above.
In the story, I put myself in the shoes of the “Yongan” I most longed to be, and wrote down everything about being deceived, joining the studio, and all the insights I gained during that time.
I tried to think from Yongan’s perspective, searching for a new direction for our videos.
I showed the manuscript to the real-life “Yongan,” and as soon as she read it, she complained:
“Never mind anything else, but why did you give me the surname ‘Wu’ and name that pretty boy ‘Zhang Yizhi’?”
-Zhang Yizhi was a famous male favorite in history, and his mistress was the renowned Empress Wu Zetian.
I grinned and said, “You’re so impressive, and he’s always eager to please you. Isn’t it just like that?”
“Yongan” pouted.
Sensing she was changing the subject, I cut straight to what I cared about most:
“What do you think of my writing? Did I really understand your thoughts?”
“Yongan” stood up, paused for a long while, and then nodded condescendingly: “It’s not bad.”
I called after her:
“If a lot of people like it, that means everyone agrees with my suggestion!
“If that happens, let’s switch to making videos about career women and encourage everyone to break out of the trap, okay?”
She turned around and made a face at me:
“This story might just flop!
“Let’s wait until someone actually wants to give you a like!”
