Forgotten Love - Chapter 24
“W-what did you hear?”
This time, it was Gu Huaian who became nervous.
I didn’t want him to know that I had eavesdropped on his call with Yang Fan.
So I replied vaguely:
“I heard that when Lin Jiao came back this time, there was a child with her who looked a lot like you…”
“That’s not my child!”
Gu Huaian hurriedly denied it:
“I secretly went to see. That kid just happens to have a high nose and big eyes like me. But aren’t all handsome boys like that when they’re young!”
“He calls her Aunt Lin Jiao, and the date of birth on his household registration doesn’t match the time when Lin Jiao left.”
“I went to see Lin Jiao today because I wanted to confirm the child’s matter first, then ask her about what really happened back then-if there was something more to it.”
“But who knew, as soon as she said the child wasn’t mine, she started taking off her clothes and threw herself at me…”
Since his memory loss, this was the most troubled I’d ever seen Gu Huaian.
Although subconsciously, he felt that nothing had happened between him and Lin Jiao,
he was still missing that part of his memory.
Before getting to the bottom of it, he had been on edge for several days.
For some reason, I suddenly thought of that sleepless night.
I couldn’t help but ask:
“So that night a few days ago, when you smoked on the balcony all night, were you thinking about the child?”
“You weren’t asleep?”
Gu Huaian was stunned for a moment.
He touched the tip of his nose a little awkwardly.
“Not entirely… I was just thinking, you already don’t like me, and now with a child suddenly appearing, do you have even more reason to leave me?”
“Luckily, the child isn’t mine, and you…”
Gu Huaian paused.
He sneaked a glance at me.
The corners of his mouth couldn’t help but curl up:
“…haven’t fallen for someone else.”
Looking at Gu Huaian, who was like a child, unable to hide his emotions,
I couldn’t help but wonder, if there really was a child, could eighteen-year-old Gu Huaian handle it?
“Huaian, do you like children?”
I was a little curious.
“Ah…”
Gu Huaian instinctively frowned.
“Every time I go out and run into noisy kids, I get a headache.”
“But,”
He coughed, then changed his tone:
“After what Mom said last time, I suddenly thought, maybe having a child wouldn’t be so bad…”
I was sitting on the edge of the bed, listening intently.
Suddenly, Gu Huaian squatted down in front of me.
He looked up, eyes sparkling like stars.
“So, Shen Qingruan…”
His Adam’s apple bobbed, a hint of nervousness and anticipation in his voice.
“Do you want to have a child with me?”
I smiled, grabbed his collar,
and we both tumbled onto the soft bed.
Gu Huaian propped himself up, face flushed, and wrapped me in his arms.
He gazed at me without blinking.
The shyness and passion of youth poured from his eyes.
The next second, his warm lips gently covered mine.
“Shen Qingruan, this is my first time. You have to take responsibility for me.”
“Ugh, have you no shame…”
I couldn’t help but laugh and lifted my foot to kick him.
But he grabbed my ankle instead and pressed it against his burning hot body.
Gu Huaian let out a muffled groan.
His grip tightened a little more:
“I don’t remember anything from before.”
He took my earlobe into his mouth, his heavy breathing like a drumbeat pounding in my heart.
“Shen Qingruan, this is the eighteen-year-old Gu Huaian, telling you…”
“I love you.”
