Chapter 2
When I first met Xie Shuyan, we didn’t get along well.
I relied on my family’s wealth to act recklessly, and my grades were at the bottom of the class.
The homeroom teacher, in an effort to get me to study properly, made Xie Shuyan sit next to me.
Initially, Xie Shuyan didn’t care to interact with me.
Every day, he just focused on his set of test papers, going through them repeatedly.
He was smart, had a good personality, and looked good.
His only flaw was being poor.
I was different.
I wasn’t smart, didn’t have a good personality.
Sitting next to Xie Shuyan, I was like a brainless rich kid.
Fortunately, I had good emotional intelligence. While all the girls in school were giving him flowers and writing love letters, I bought him college entrance exam practice papers.
All his exam papers were bought by me.
In less than a semester, I successfully won him over.
The day I cautiously kissed Xie Shuyan was just his birthday.
His white shirt was disheveled, his lips stained with my lipstick, eyes lowered, “What do you mean?”
Kissing a man for the first time, my mind went blank.
I stammered, “Don’t you understand? Be my boyfriend.”
Xie Shuyan’s ears turned slightly red, and he softly said, “Okay.”
Those were truly beautiful times.
I originally didn’t like studying, but once I entered the classroom, I obediently sat next to Xie Shuyan, listening to him tutor me.
In a year’s time, my total score improved by over a hundred points.
Calculating it, I could go to Beijing.
No need for a long-distance relationship with Xie Shuyan.
If it weren’t for the later physical examination revealing health issues…
“Ugh–”
The sound of my vomiting echoed in the hospital room.
I clung to the toilet, my vision darkened, breaking out in a cold sweat.
My bestie patted my back, “This can’t go on, your reaction is so severe, I’ll go find a doctor.”
I grabbed her hand, “No need, I’m used to it.”
Back then, 27 rounds of chemotherapy, I was alone abroad, and I got through it.
Endured for ten years, the old illness relapsed.
Still don’t know how long this suffering will last, if I keep going to the doctor, I’m afraid I’ll annoy them.
My bestie was unwilling, “Isn’t Xie Shuyan your attending physician? I’ll go find him, he surely has a solution.”
I hugged my bestie’s leg, “My dear aunt, please calm down, you should be grateful he didn’t recognize me, if he did, he’d prescribe a hundred rounds of chemotherapy.”
“Who told you to undergo a hundred rounds of chemotherapy?”
A cold voice came from behind.
I stiffened all over, not daring to turn my head.
My bestie let out a sigh of relief, “Professor Xie, Tingyue isn’t feeling well–”
“Normal reaction to chemotherapy, if she can’t endure…”
What Xie Shuyan said to my bestie afterwards, I didn’t hear.
Because all I could think about was:
Did he hear what I just said?
