Falling for the Best Man, A Second Chance at Love - Chapter 33
Stepping out of the school gates, Sheng Moyang stood with his hands in his pockets, bathed in the slanting rays of the setting sun.
He turned back to look at me.
The next second, a smile curved at the corners of his lips as he opened his arms toward me.
The warm breeze of early spring carried the faint scent of blossoms, brushing gently past us.
Last night, he proposed to me.
I neither nodded nor shook my head.
I simply smiled and slid the ring onto my middle finger.
He raised an eyebrow. “Tsk, planning to stay in a lifelong romance with me?”
“What, are you in a hurry?”
He laughed and leaned in to kiss me. “If you’re not in a rush, why should I be? Spending a lifetime in love with you works just fine for me.”
I no longer yearn, as I did in my youth, for a white wedding dress or a marriage certificate.
Lovers in this world always long to see their love bear fruit.
But the fruit of love doesn’t necessarily grow only within the walls of marriage.
I think, perhaps, love’s fruition comes in two forms.
One is stepping into marriage, walking hand in hand until old age.
The other is parting ways with grace, leaving love behind as we stride forward.
As I walked toward him, I couldn’t help but wonder:
What kind of fruition would Sheng Moyang and I have?
Before I could figure it out, the impatient man had already stepped forward, pulling me into his arms.
His tone carried a thick, jealous edge. “Miss Shen, revisiting old haunts-what are your thoughts?”
I tilted my head up and smiled at him. “My thought is… cherish the one before you.”
