Disguised as a Man, She Has Eight Men Fighting Over Her - Chapter 60
Chapter 60
Jiang Si spoke into his earpiece. “Security, restrain the attacker and call the police immediately. Host, control the crowd. The event is suspended—the members need medical attention.”
Shen Qingrang hurried backstage with Lin Cheng under the protection of his teammates and security. Everyone took a role: Pei Jinye cleared the way with a black expression, while Yan Ci and Jiang Si guarded either side. Shi Yu stayed behind to help the host calm the fans.

At the hospital, the doctor diagnosed mild corneal damage from the laser.
“It isn’t especially serious, but eyes are sensitive. For the next two days, rest away from light, use the eyedrops on schedule, and avoid irritation.”
Shen Qingrang finally relaxed slightly. He turned to Lin Cheng, who sat frowning from the light, and carefully fitted a blackout eye mask over her eyes.
“How is it? Too tight? Is it uncomfortable?”
Comfortable darkness enveloped her, and she exhaled. “It’s just right. Mm… but it makes me sleepy.”
He chuckled and flicked her uncovered forehead. “Then let’s go home and put our little patient to bed.”
The car was quiet. With her vision blacked out, Lin Cheng’s other senses seemed exceptionally sharp.
“Does it still hurt?”
“Much better. I’m just not used to everything being this dark.”
“Then get used to it for two days. Your eyes are under my management. No secretly removing the mask, no looking at your phone, and absolutely no crying. Understand?”
She pouted. “…Yes, fussbudget dad.”
His warm breath brushed her ear, his voice taking on a dangerous resonance. “What did you call me?”
Her ear tingled. Just then, his phone rang.
He frowned. “Si.”
“Qingrang, the police have their result. It was a stalker fan of Lin Chen. Motive? Lin Chen never responded to the obsessive messages he left on Weibo, so love turned to hate. He’s been formally detained.”
“Understood.” Shen Qingrang’s voice was glacial.
After hanging up, he fell silent, apparently considering something. Though Lin Cheng could not see, she felt the pressure around him drop.
“Was that… about me?”
“Mm.” He gently took the hand resting on her knee. “It’s handled. Your only task now is to rest.”
The other members had not returned when they reached the hotel. Shen Qingrang settled her on the sofa and fetched warm water. When he offered the glass, she deliberately refused to take it.
“Qin Rang.”
He went still.
“Don’t think being attentive now will help. I haven’t decided to forgive you.”
In the darkness, she heard a quiet sigh. Then he knelt on one knee before her, his presence drawing close.
“All right. Don’t forgive me.” His voice held unprecedented sincerity. “But hear my explanation first. Please?”
She pressed her lips together without answering.
“When I disappeared without saying goodbye, my mother had suddenly passed away. My father missed her so much that he changed my surname to hers—Shen—and immediately took me abroad. Everything was chaos then.”
His tone was calm, but Lin Cheng heard the deeply buried weight beneath it. The hurt beneath her feigned anger began to ache for him instead.
“Then… what about the ring?”
He laughed tenderly. Taking her wrist, he guided her fingertips to the cool ring on his middle finger.
“It’s here. The woven-grass ring has always been hidden inside this one.”
Lin Cheng instinctively traced the ring around his sharply defined finger—and unwanted images surfaced.
This ring had pressed into her waist. Scraped her wrist. Even left a cool touch upon her lips.
Heat rushed into her cheeks and ears. She jerked her hand away.
Shen Qingrang watched her reddening ear tips and the choker at her throat. His Adam’s apple rolled.
“Good girl, what are you thinking about?”
She turned her head, setting off a crisp jingle. “N-nothing.”
He leaned closer. Without touching her, he plucked the still-trembling bell at her throat.
“Jingle…”
The sound was unbearably suggestive in the quiet room.
“Little liar.”
His breath grazed her neck. She shrank away. “Could I trouble you to take me to my room? I’m sleepy.”
“Never be afraid to trouble me,” he said with low certainty.
Whatever you want, I’ll give you.
He straightened, planted one long leg in the gap between her knees, and braced himself against the sofa behind her. His other arm slipped around her back and waist, lifting her gently.
“Put your arms around my neck.”
Still confused, Lin Cheng obeyed. His coaxing voice sounded beside her ear.
“Your legs. Wrap them around me.”
“!”
She froze. “Shen Qingrang, don’t go too far…”
“Don’t be afraid.” His arm tightened at her waist, drawing their bodies closer. Before she could hesitate, he rose, forcing her legs to lock around his waist as he lifted her completely from the sofa.
“Qin Rang! When did you become such a closet pervert?”
She thumped his shoulder. He lowered his head, his chin brushing her burning ear, his voice rough with restraint.
“Weren’t you sleepy? I’m taking you to bed.”
At the bedroom door, he stopped. Lowering his head, he found the little bell at her throat with warm lips, took it lightly between them, and flicked it once with his tongue.
“Jingle…”
That was cheating.
Lin Cheng had no idea how he had made the sound. She felt only damp heat and instinctively tightened her legs around him.
“It’s noisy. Stop that,” she protested, soft and flustered.
He slowly raised his head, leaving the bell faintly wet. “Weren’t you sleepy?” His husky voice carried a lazy, victorious smile as he carried her inside. “I’m helping you wake up.”
At the bed, he bent and placed her on the mattress, his gaze still fixed on her.
“Sleep.”
In the end, he only pulled the blanket over her. “I’ll be right outside.”
Only after the bedroom door clicked softly shut did Lin Cheng release a long breath.
So hot.
She yanked off the eye mask.
Still hot.
Outside, every trace of warmth vanished from Shen Qingrang’s face, frost gathering in his eyes. He found an encrypted number and called. The other party answered instantly.
“It’s me. The person who used the laser on Lin Chen today—I need him…”
“Mr. Shen.” The person on the other end interrupted him, unusually hesitant. “We were just about to report this. Someone moved faster than we did.”
Shen Qingrang frowned. “Who?”
