- Chapter 46 - Eight-Turn Golden Needle and the Mysterious Visitor Part 2
Tang Jie cast a cold glance, his eyes tinged with faint black lines. As a person charged at him like a hurricane, a sword instantly appeared in Tang Jie’s hand. With a swift motion, he swung the sword in midair, clashing heavily with the weapon of the approaching challenger.
“Clang.” A heavy echo resounded throughout the room, causing the attacker to stagger back several steps.
Tang Jie also stepped back two paces due to the impact. Both he and the attacker looked at each other with astonishment.
“Haha, you’re actually at the Acquired Great Perfection level. This fight just got interesting,” the attacker, who had been forced back by Tang Jie, laughed as he spoke.
Tang Jie frowned and said, “You’d better think about your last wishes. Once the fight starts, I won’t hold back.”
“Hmph, ignorant boy, do you really think you can kill the two of us? Dream on…”
“Haha, we’ll see about that,” Tang Jie replied, having already assessed his opponent’s strength from the attack. His opponent was indeed at the Acquired Great Perfection level but was still slightly lacking compared to Tang Jie.
Glancing at the other person standing silently and coldly beside him, Tang Jie guessed that this individual’s strength would naturally not be low, possibly also at the Acquired Great Perfection level.
This battle would be challenging; having not encountered such strong opponents since entering the city, Tang Jie slightly furrowed his brow.
“Who are you? State your names like the dogs you are, so I can find your master later,” Tang Jie shouted, unleashing his full aura, causing gusts of wind to sweep through the room.
The two men were momentarily stunned before angrily retorting, “Hmph, ignorant kid, how dare you call us dogs? We’ll beat you so badly your mother won’t recognize you.”
“Listen well, remember the name of your grandfathers. We are from the Viper. If you have the guts, feel free to come after us,” said the uninvited guest loudly.
Unexpectedly, the person standing next to the speaking uninvited guest suddenly spoke, “Elder brother, let’s stop wasting time. Let’s finish this quickly and leave.”
“Alright, younger brother.” After their brief exchange, both men’s gazes returned to Tang Jie, their cold eyes seemingly radiating a deadly aura.
Seeing this, Tang Jie snorted dismissively, rushing forward instead of retreating, shouting, “You two dogs, if you have the guts, come fight. Don’t waste my time with your nonsense.”
Tang Jie rushed to the two men, swinging his sword hand forward violently and then quickly blocking downwards. Although these moves did not cause direct harm, they made it clear to the adversaries that Tang Jie alone was more than capable of battling both of them.
“Dammit, you’re playing us, aren’t you? I’ll show you a thing or two,” the one called elder brother roared as he saw Tang Jie leap back and quickly pursued him.
“Clang, clang, clang.” Three consecutive metallic clashes were followed by a deeper metallic collision sound.
While Tang Jie was engaged in combat with elder brother, the younger brother sneakily moved behind Tang Jie. The last deep metallic sound was produced when Tang Jie blocked his strike.
Tang Jie was not pleased with this situation. He always preferred upright people and truly despised such sneaky characters, vowing to eliminate them one by one.
As the sword’s blade turned, Tang Jie, barely catching his breath, faced another fierce charge from the elder brother, his sword dancing wildly.
Tang Jie admitted that the two men were indeed very powerful. A few years back, he might have been killed by them, but times had changed, and Tang Jie was no longer afraid.
He observed their movements and chose the perfect moment to strike.
“Now,” Tang Jie snorted coldly. Seeing the younger brother attempt another sneak attack from behind, his eyes narrowed. Ignoring elder rother in front of him, he spun around and dashed toward the younger brother, his sword moving at an extreme speed.
“Younger brother, be careful!” The elder rother, sensing the danger, quickly warned his younger sibling.
“Clang, clang, clang.” After three more sounds, a sudden surge of blood followed.
“Younger brother,” the elder brother clearly saw the scene as Tang Jie’s sword penetrated his younger brother’s head, entering the left ear and exiting the right.
This sight was terrifying yet absurd. Tang Jie slowly pulled out his sword, quickly shaking off the red and white fluid that coated the blade.
“Ah, I’m going to kill you!” The elder brother was utterly consumed by his rage, charging at Tang Jie like a mad dog, his attacks filled with a reckless abandon.
Tang Jie frowned as he faced the man who seemed to have lost all reason, yelling, “Have you lost your mind?”
“Give me back my younger brother’s life!” he shouted, once again rushing wildly at Tang Jie, completely ignoring his own vulnerabilities, intent on dragging Tang Jie down with him.
Seeing these vicious attacks, Tang Jie was cautious. Though he could see openings in his opponent’s defense that he could exploit with a single strike, this reckless style meant mutual destruction.
If Tang Jie struck at these gaps, the other man’s sword might well land on him too, so Tang Jie held back.
However, as the minutes of battle passed, the brother could no longer shout as fiercely as before. By focusing solely on offense and neglecting defense, his weaknesses multiplied, and Tang Jie adeptly capitalized on them.
Although the elder brother was not grievously injured, the accumulation of minor wounds left him barely able to stand.
Tang Jie looked at the man, now nearly devoid of energy, and said, “I admire your bold spirit. I’ll let you go today. Leave.”
“Hmph, I’m a man. If you want to kill me, do it. I won’t tolerate your disdain,” the brother replied defiantly. Seeing this resolve, Tang Jie could only shake his head helplessly, as he was sincere.
In today’s world, finding someone with true grit was rare. Even during his time completing missions as a mercenary, he hardly met anyone with such spirit. Now, having encountered someone like that, it placed him in a difficult position.
Tang Jie looked at the man and, gritting his teeth, decided to fulfill his last wish, allowing him to die with honor. Regretfully, he drove his sword into the man’s head.
With that, the battle finally ended. The two in the room had died in an unusual manner, both with swords driven through their heads, while white matter still seeped from their wounds.
