Demonic King of the Metropolis - Chapter 39 - It's Your Note! Part 1
“Regardless of whether my guess is accurate, a nineteen-year-old ancient martial arts master at the Acquired Great Perfection level cannot have a simple background!” Wang Guohao stood with his hands behind his back, a hint of reluctance flashing in his eyes as he spoke slowly.
“You should go find Elder Sun to help heal your injuries!” Wang Guohao waved his hand and then walked upstairs alone.
Hearing this, Pang Guang didn’t speak, just nodded, got up, and left the villa.
The next day, the sound of a phone ringing woke Tang Jie from his sleep. After picking up the phone and pressing the answer button, Uncle Zhao’s voice came through, “Hello, Tang, I’ve prepared all the medicinal herbs you needed. Do you want…?”
“Yes, Uncle Zhao, please bring them to me tonight,” Tang Jie said slowly, opening his bleary eyes.
“Alright!” Uncle Zhao’s excitement was evident in his tone. The issue that had troubled him for years was finally about to be resolved, so he couldn’t be happier.
After hanging up the phone, Tang Jie glanced at the time on his phone: 7:10. Shaking his head helplessly, he got out of bed.
He quickly freshened up, put on his No. 2 High School uniform, grabbed his black shoulder bag from the sofa, and headed out.
A bus stop was located just a short distance from Blue Bay Apartment. After walking for about five minutes, Tang Jie arrived at the bus stop.
On the first day he entered No. 2 High School, Tang Jie told Uncle Zhao not to pick him up anymore, so the only transportation he used to get to school was the bus.
Chen Jiankai heard about this later and offered to get Tang Jie a car, but Tang Jie politely refused.
First, Tang Jie didn’t want to attract attention. The impression he gave at No. 2 High School was that of a poor boy. If he drove a car to school on the second day, it would undeniably create unnecessary trouble for him.
Second, Tang Jie was not someone who liked to show off. Maintaining a low profile was one of his principles because he understood the concept of attracting unwanted attention.
Although attending No. 2 High School was just part of his task, being overly flashy was not Tang Jie’s style.
What Tang Jie didn’t expect, however, was that trouble would come even before he entered No. 2 High School. On just the second day at school, Wang Shiwen was already eager to make a move on him, which left Tang Jie feeling quite helpless.
After waiting for a few minutes, a bus heading to No. 2 High School slowly arrived. Once it came to a stop and the doors opened, Tang Jie boarded the bus.
A little after seven in the morning, most of the passengers on the bus were students in their school uniforms. With the bus already full, Tang Jie had no choice but to stand.
Once the bus driver saw that no one else was getting on, he closed the doors and drove slowly to the next stop.
The bus was silent, and feeling bored, Tang Jie glanced around. Suddenly, he perked up.
A fresh and bright figure caught Tang Jie’s attention. Unfortunately, the girl was facing away from him, which left him somewhat disappointed.
Even without seeing her face, Tang Jie was certain that the front view wouldn’t be any less impressive than he imagined.
The girl was wearing a white batwing top, paired with blue denim shorts and seven-centimeter high heels. Her fair, slender legs made Tang Jie involuntarily swallow.
“Turn around, turn around…”
At that moment, Tang Jie silently urged, hoping the girl would turn so he could take a good look.
As if by some stroke of luck, the bus suddenly braked sharply, causing the unsuspecting passengers to lurch forward. The girl, caught off guard, turned abruptly and stumbled a couple of steps forward.
“Stunning, absolutely stunning!”
Except for those seated, everyone standing on the bus was affected by the sudden stop, but not Tang Jie. He stood firm, like a mountain, unmoved by the commotion.
When the girl turned around, the scene seemed to slow down in Tang Jie’s eyes. He took in every movement clearly.
Her black silky hair swayed lightly, and her lively eyes sparkled with an enchanting glow. The girl’s fair, delicate skin and lips, as thin and vibrant as cicada wings, instantly captivated Tang Jie.
Seizing the moment of chaos inside the bus, Tang Jie discreetly took a step and moved beside the girl, standing nonchalantly next to her.
Instantly, a fragrance as refreshing as orchids wafted towards Tang Jie, sending his mind into a flurry.
Just as Tang Jie was contemplating how to strike up a conversation with the girl, a mechanical voice announced their arrival, and he looked up to see that the bus had reached the school gate of No. 2 High School.
The moment the doors opened, the girl beside Tang Jie stepped off the bus. Filled with a sudden impulse, Tang Jie followed her.
“Tang Jie!”
As he stepped through the school gate, a voice called out from behind, stopping him.
Pausing, Tang Jie turned around with a sigh and asked, “Miss Chen, what can I do for you?”
He knew that Chen Shuran was behind him. He had intended to quicken his pace and make a getaway, but Chen Shuran had called out to him first.
“What are you up to?” Chen Shuran asked with a sly smile as she walked up and leaned her pretty face closer to Tang Jie.
“Uh!” Tang Jie was a bit uncomfortable with her sudden move, instinctively taking a step back. “I’m not up to anything. Can’t you see I’m heading to class?”
“Oh!” Chen Shuran smirked and said, “I saw you sneaking behind a girl. Come on, are you planning something mischievous?”
“Ahem… Miss Chen, what nonsense are you talking about!” Tang Jie was startled by her words. Thinking quickly, he said, “We’re almost late. I really must get to class now!”
With that, he didn’t wait for Chen Shuran to respond before turning around and sprinting away. No kidding, seeing her about to pounce like that, if he didn’t run now, it would be too late.
“Hey, Tang Jie, stop right there!” Chen Shuran shouted, stomping her foot and raising her voice as she saw Tang Jie run off without looking back.
But Tang Jie paid no heed to Chen Shuran’s words. In a blink, he had run a hundred meters away while scanning his surroundings, muttering to himself, “Where could she have gone?”
After searching for a while and not finding any trace of the girl, Tang Jie felt a bit disappointed. As the bell rang, he made his way back to the classroom.
