Demonic King of the Metropolis - Chapter 38 - Acquired Great Perfection!
An ancient martial artist at the Acquired Great Perfection level facing a regular Acquired Realm practitioner can achieve an instant kill, thanks to the gap in their levels!
In the blink of an eye, Tang Jie moved like a shadow to Pang Guang’s back. His palm struck out, the palm wind intermingled with a sharp sound slicing through the air, aiming at Pang Guang’s back.
“Poof!”
By the time Pang Guang realized it, he couldn’t dodge and had to forcibly endure Tang Jie’s strike. Blood spurted from his mouth again.
“What on earth do you want?”
Suppressing the turbulent blood and energy within him, after enduring two strikes from an ancient martial arts master at the Acquired Great Perfection level, Pang Guang found it hard to bear. Steadying himself, he loudly rebuked Tang Jie, “Don’t you know to respect the elderly? Treating an old man like this, aren’t you afraid of divine retribution?”
Hearing this, three black lines appeared on Tang Jie’s forehead, and he replied, “If it were me in a weaker position, what would the outcome be?”
Tang Jie’s words made Pang Guang feel ashamed; indeed, if Tang Jie had been weaker, he might have already killed him, as that was his intention from the start. However, he was caught off guard by Tang Jie being a master at the Acquired Great Perfection level.
But remembering Tang Jie’s repeated taunts, Pang Guang’s face flushed red as he shouted again at Tang Jie, “What do you actually want, telling me to leave while attacking me repeatedly? If you’re going to kill, then do it! If I flinch, I’m no hero.”
These words were spoken with great righteousness, but Pang Guang immediately regretted it in his heart. Whose bright idea were these heroic words? Damn it, I haven’t lived enough yet!
Stunned by Pang Guang’s words, Tang Jie then noticed Pang Guang, after making his resolute declaration, secretly shuffling back a couple of steps, which amused him.
“You can go. I won’t do anything to you this time,” Tang Jie said with a wave of his hand.
“Uh…” Pang Guang was once again taken aback, then internally cried out to the heavens, “What on earth is this situation?”
With that thought, he dared not linger, suppressing the stabbing pain in his back, and he took off, running swiftly.
Once Pang Guang had left, Tang Jie stood in place, a mischievous smile on his face, and murmured, “Three, two, one…”
As his words faded, a horrifying scream echoed from afar, filled with anguish and despair.
“Hahaha…” Hearing the agonizing cry, Tang Jie clutched his stomach and laughed heartily.
“Pang Guang…” Pang Guang gritted his teeth, shouting to the heavens with overwhelming hatred, “Ah…”
Before he could finish, Pang Guang screamed again. He quickly tore off his gray Daoist robe, revealing his crimson skin in just his white boxers.
“My true qi…” he exclaimed in shock, realizing his true qi was disappearing. After swiftly pressing several acupoints on his body, his red skin gradually faded.
Yet, the flow of true qi within him did not stop. In desperation, Pang Guang struck his own dantian1 with his palm, shouting, “Stop!”
With that strike, Pang Guang spat out a mouthful of blood, his face growing even paler, and the flow of his true qi finally ceased.
“That last strike, Tang Jie, you’re ruthless!” Pang Guang stumbled to his feet, recalling the changes within him, instantly connecting it to Tang Jie’s earlier strike, his eyes filled with intense hatred.
Feeling utterly defeated, Pang Guang wisely refrained from circulating his true qi further and, after a brief rest, hastily departed.
In that final strike, Tang Jie had stealthily channeled his true qi into Pang Guang’s dantian, causing friction between the two energies when Pang Guang tried to use his own true qi, leading to its rapid depletion.
It must be noted that Tang Jie was at the Acquired Great Perfection level, a whole realm higher than Pang Guang, making his true qi impossible for Pang Guang to assimilate.
After a chuckle, Tang Jie looked up and realized it was late. Sleepiness washed over him, so he swiftly descended the stairs, returned to his room, shed his clothes, and sank into the soft bed, falling into a deep sleep.
…
The dark night enveloped the earth as people slept peacefully, but inside a villa, lights blazed brightly. A middle-aged man in a black suit and polished shoes was pacing back and forth in the villa’s living room, his face filled with anger and his brows furrowed.
“What happened? Tell me everything, word by word!” Wang Guohao’s eyes were fixed on Pang Guang, who was sitting on the sofa in a gray Daoist robe, his face pale.
“Head of the family…, this Tang Jie, he’s not an ordinary person!” Pang Guang clutched his dantian, feeling the tumultuous flow of two streams of true qi within him that turned his body into a battlefield. Tang Jie’s true qi wreaked havoc on his system.
“Speak!” Wang Guohao commanded with a stern, authoritative voice, his eyes fierce.
Pang Guang nodded, a look of helplessness on his face, and recounted the earlier events, though he carefully omitted the embarrassing incident of removing his Daoist robe on the quiet street. After all, despite being an ancient martial arts master, he had his pride!
“Just as I thought!” Wang Guohao’s eyes flashed with a cold glint as he spoke in a deep voice, “Tang Jie, it seems I was right. No wonder you’re not afraid of our Wang Family. It turns out you’re a master at the Acquired Great Perfection level!”
He paused before continuing, “A nineteen-year-old master at the Acquired Great Perfection level. If I’m not mistaken, he must have been cultivated by a prominent family!”
Wang Guohao’s pupils contracted, and with a wave of his hand, he added, “Xiao Wei, go tell the young master to stop provoking Tang Jie. Our Wang Family can’t afford to offend someone like him!”
The thought of this possibility sent chills down Wang Guohao’s spine. Although he wasn’t an ancient martial arts cultivator, being the heir of a secular family, he was somewhat aware of the affairs of the ancient martial arts world.
The attendant, Xiao Wei, standing behind Wang Guohao, bowed slightly and said, “Yes, Mr. Wang, but…”
“But what?” Wang Guohao asked, noticing Xiao Wei’s hesitation.
“It’s just that I’m worried the young master might not be able to swallow his pride. Mr. Wang, you know the young master’s temper. If this matter isn’t resolved, I’m afraid…”
“Tell Shiwen that the trouble he’s stirred up this time is beyond our Wang Family’s ability to handle. He should stop provoking Tang Jie!” Wang Guohao remarked with a bitter smile, speaking slowly.
“Mr. Wang…” Xiao Wei stepped forward, about to inquire further, but stopped as Wang Guohao waved his hand. Xiao Wei wisely kept silent, nodded, and then left the villa.
