Cycle of Death - Chapter 2
Chapter 2
He was too fast. Someone entered the room the moment I left.
If I had been even a second slower, then I…
I might be dead right now.
The mere thought of it made my scalp crawl.
Since the lights weren’t on, I could only see a dark shadow.
The problem was, this dark shadow was actually holding a knife!
He was agile, moving with a clear objective as he charged straight for the bed.
Without even looking, he swung the knife down onto the mattress.
A chill ran down my spine. If I had been lying there, my head probably would have been chopped off.
503 was telling the truth-a murderer really had infiltrated our dormitory!
But why?
We just failed some classes; it’s not like we committed some heinous crime. Why carry out this indiscriminate slaughter against us?
After his strike hit nothing but air, the dark shadow seemed to realize that no one was living in the dorm room anymore.
He pulled out a phone. The light from the screen hit his face, but he was wearing a mask, so I still couldn’t make out his features.
Soon, I received a message from 107: “Don’t you live in 205?”
As expected, 503 was right again.
107 had indeed been killed, and his phone had been taken by the murderer.
Naturally, I didn’t dare reply.
But he continued to send messages, telling me:
“Hiding is useless. Tonight’s events are far more complicated than you imagine.”
At that moment, I only wanted to escape with my life, so I didn’t take those words to heart.
But in reality, things truly exceeded my expectations.
In the video feed, I saw someone poke their head in from outside the door to take a look.
There was a faint light in the corridor, so I could clearly see-
This person was wearing a police uniform and a police cap.
503 said he had called the police, and that turned out to be true as well.
That was great.
I couldn’t wait to see him rush into the dorm and take down the knife-wielding thug.
However, to my utter astonishment-
This Police Officer walked slowly into the dorm and stood side-by-side with the murderer.
I was completely stunned.
I learned the reason why almost immediately.
They actually started talking, and I managed to hit the screen record button just in time.
The scene was incredibly eerie.
A Police Officer and a Black-clad Person who was highly suspected of being a murderer were actually conversing quite naturally:
“No one?”
“We were played. 205 ran away. He must have been egged on by 503. But don’t worry, they have nowhere left to go.”
“How many people ran?”
“I’ve already killed 107 and 115. The other two are still out there killing. I can only confirm that 205 and 503 escaped.”
“Find them quickly. Time is running out. Don’t worry about the police report. Go.”
“Alright. I’ll ask those two what’s going on and find everyone as soon as possible.”
Talking like that, they slowly walked out of room 205…
I was left speechless.
There were actually three of them! No, counting the Police Officer, there were even more.
At this point, the only person I could probably trust was 503.
But on second thought, this person was also suspicious. How did he know so much?
I didn’t even know why we were being targeted, let alone who the killers were.
Yet he had already started preparing his defense in advance and even had time to warn us.
I immediately sent a message to 503: “Who are they? Why do you know so much?”
A moment later, he replied: “I also know how to survive. Including you and me, only six people are still alive. We have to get together to succeed.”
He didn’t answer my question, but he made a very constructive suggestion.
It caused me to subconsciously type out a line: “Then where are you guys?”
Just as I was about to press send, a thought suddenly struck me-
If I were the one receiving a message like this, I would definitely suspect the other person was one of the killers!
Just like how “107” asked me which dorm I lived in, and how the “Dorm Supervisor” told us all to turn on our lights.
Even 503’s phrase, “We have to get together,” was extremely suspicious.
It was a sentence designed to lead me to him.
It was malicious.
I deleted the original message and instead asked him coldly and directly: “You’re the killer, aren’t you?”
His reply was-
“Hahaha.”
My whole body went cold.
It was over. Had 503 been killed too?
