Chapter 17
After finishing all my orders, I was so exhausted that I felt completely limp, but I still had to pull myself together and, according to my original plan, draw a clear line between Gu Xuchen and me.
I packed my luggage.
For the last time, I stood at the entrance of this villa, looking over what used to be my “home,” faintly recalling the first time I came here.
The day we got our marriage certificate.
I was full of joy, holding onto Gu Xuchen’s arm.
No matter what I looked at, everything seemed dazzlingly beautiful.
“Gu Xuchen.”
“Gu Xuchen!”
“Hello, Mr. Gu Xuchen~ I’m your wife now~”
He glanced at me out of the corner of his eye, his expression indifferent, as if he couldn’t understand my happiness. But I still felt blissful, calling his name over and over again, hoping I could call it for a lifetime.
Because he was the most stunning presence in my youth.
…
Perhaps this marriage didn’t end pleasantly, but it did bring my dream to a close.
“After all that, you made yourself a divorcée! Impressive!”
My mom looked like she wanted to strangle me through the screen.
I was so scared I hung up right away, collapsing in my new home, just hoping life could restart. But my mom wasted no time and immediately started arranging blind dates for me…
I could really die from this.
Because my blind date turned out to be An Yu.
“What a coincidence.”
We sat face-to-face across a table.
I was so embarrassed I wanted to crawl into a hole. I looked at An Yu apologetically and said, “Sorry, senior, my mom is just bored.”
An Yu looked at me, smiling gently. “Auntie means well. I actually think we get along pretty well. We could try getting to know each other.”
Me: …
I blinked, vaguely catching An Yu’s meaning, and quickly waved my hands:
“No, no, senior, I have a pretty bad temper, really not suitable for you.”
An Yu smiled helplessly and said softly, “We’re already friends. It doesn’t seem quite right to say we should start as friends, so let’s start as good friends.”
I nodded a little awkwardly, quietly holding my tea, my gaze drifting outside.
Through the glass window.
I vaguely saw a car that looked exactly like the Cayenne I used to drive, even the stickers were the same.
For a moment,
My sixth sense told me it might be Gu Xuchen, but then I thought, he probably hasn’t been discharged from the hospital yet…
