Summary
On the day I was diagnosed with terminal cancer, I dreamt that I was the tragic ‘White Moonlight’ destined for an early grave in a melodrama.
My childhood friend, Jun Yi’an, was currently rambling on to me. “Mingyue (meaning ‘Bright Moon’), let’s go have spicy hot pot.”
I gave a soft laugh. “Let’s try something different. How about the tomato broth?”
The female lead of this story couldn’t handle spicy food. Yet, in her effort to resemble me after Jun Yi’an took her in as his mistress, she forced herself to eat spicy food every day until she eventually developed a chronic stomach ailment.
Since my time was already short, I was even less willing to let others suffer because of me.
