Breaking Up Was a Choice I Planned All Along - Chapter 21
The next evening, Meng Ce sent me a thank-you message on WeChat.
“I’m feeling much better, thanks again for helping me find the infirmary.”
I responded formally, “You’re welcome, it’s nothing, we’re classmates after all.”
Then a voice message popped up from him.
“I have a small favor to ask. I’m new here and not familiar with the place. Could you show me around the campus?”
The chat window went silent for three minutes.
Another voice message came through, “At B University, you’re my only friend.”
His voice still had a bit of a buzz, likely because his cold hadn’t fully cleared up.
Predictably, I softened and agreed.
“Let’s wait until your cold gets a bit better.”
He promptly sent over a screenshot of the weather forecast for the coming week, “How about Saturday? It won’t rain that day.”
I watched myself slowly type out on the screen, “Okay.”
