Chapter 3
Xu Siyan’s G-Class was sturdy enough.
The collision only scraped off a bit of paint.
Compared to this minor exterior damage, the other party’s Porsche was severely damaged.
The man said, “Sorry, my girlfriend just had an argument with me, I wasn’t paying attention. Shall we go through insurance?”
Xu Siyan waved his hand, “Forget it, no need.”
The rain intensified, and he unfolded one side of his coat.
Shielding me in his embrace, he escorted me back to the car.
The car continued to drive.
In the rearview mirror, Jiang Yuqing’s figure gradually shrank smaller and smaller.

The car stopped at the destination.
He said, “We’re here.”
I was momentarily stunned, rolled down the window:
“I just got in the car here.”
“Siyan, I’m supposed to be going home after work, not heading to work.”
He had just picked me up from the law firm entrance, yet he drove me back to the same place.
He paused, closed the window, and restarted the car.
Dusk enveloped the bustling traffic.
My heart felt as congested as this roadway.
Their reunion was without a word.
Yet in the silence, I heard one thunderclap after another.
