Chapter 24
Chen Xu and I walked out of the airport hand in hand.
I never expected to see Xu Siyan here.
It was five in the morning.
He stood among the crowd waiting for arrivals, anxiously scanning around.
It seemed like he had been waiting for a long time.
The moment he saw me step out, his eyes reddened.
He regained his composure and his gaze fell on the hands Chen Xu and I were holding.
I couldn’t discern the emotions in his eyes.
I walked up to him, and he raised his hand as if wanting to embrace me.
Then realizing it was inappropriate, he quietly lowered his hand.
I heard his voice, hoarse:
“It’s good that you’re okay, it’s good.”
He seemed to have something to say.
I sent Chen Xu off to the parking lot to fetch the car.
He nodded, taking my suitcase.
Before leaving, he glanced at Xu Siyan.
Once Chen Xu walked away, Xu Siyan asked me:
“Shuyue, why have you never told me?”
I didn’t understand.
Until I saw the video my best friend sent him.
Only then did I realize.
