Chapter 23
The return flight lasted nearly 11 hours.
I was jolted awake from my sleep by a violent turbulence.
After the turbulence persisted, the plane began to shake violently up and down.
It felt as if it might disintegrate in mid-air at any moment.
I exchanged a glance with Chen Xu, realizing something was wrong.
Many passengers began to take out their phones, preparing to leave final messages.
The air inside the cabin was taut to the extreme.
I opened my phone, my fingers trembling as I sent a farewell message to my best friend.
Considering my father has high blood pressure, I dared not send it directly to them.
If the worst were to happen, my best friend would convey my message.
At this time, it was likely she was asleep and hadn’t seen it.
I received no reply.
The plane suddenly ascended rapidly.
Clouds slammed heavily against the window beside me.
Chen Xu grasped my cold hand.
I clung tightly back, as if holding onto a lifeline.
In the face of life and death, he asked me in a deep voice:
“Shen Shuyue, can we be together?”
The next second, the plane plummeted sharply.
I closed my eyes and heard myself say yes.
