Chapter 14
Xu Siyan occasionally likes my posts on social media.
But we haven’t seen each other since.
We’ve returned to our own paths.
I immerse myself fully in work, and live earnestly.
Days surge forward like tides.
Half a year passed, and I encountered Xu Siyan on the street.
Jiang Yuqing was clinging to his arm like a delicate bird.
He strolled with her, smiling, down the street.
I wasn’t too surprised.
They still hold a place for each other in their hearts.
Coming together again is only natural.
Yet, I couldn’t help but feel a faint ache inside.
But I am still grateful.
Grateful that I let go in time.
In those three years by my side, he never truly smiled.
At least now, he seems genuinely happy.
They didn’t notice me.
I withdrew my gaze and continued walking forward.
Those three years will fade into the vastness of his life.
And I will slowly forget the length of his shadow.
