Chapter 16
The day before we were to collect our divorce certificate arrived in the blink of an eye.
I was at home packing my luggage, contemplating whether I should call Fu Shen to remind him.
Unexpectedly, while I was still hesitating, Fu Shen came to me on his own.
He was filled with hostility, glaring at me fiercely.
“Was it you who sent the photos of my affair to my father?”
I was bewildered.
“What?”
“Still pretending? If you hadn’t told my father about my affair, would he have collapsed at home with a heart attack? If Yueyue hadn’t discovered it in time, the consequences would have been unimaginable.”
It was only then that I understood what Fu Shen was talking about, and my expression darkened.
I had considered asking Fu’s father to persuade him, but since Fu’s father had a heart condition, I quickly dismissed the idea, fearing it would upset him.
“Fu Shen, if you’re brainless, you should see a doctor.”
“I’m a cardiologist. Do you think I would gamble with a patient’s life?”
As soon as he finished speaking, Fu Shen’s fist slammed hard against the wall behind me.
His eyes were filled with pain. “Jiang Wan, you’ve disappointed me too much this time. I never thought you were this kind of person.”
“Isn’t it a divorce you want? I’ll grant it. I’ll be at the Civil Affairs Bureau on time tomorrow.”
Watching Fu Shen’s departing figure, my initial urge to explain a few more things vanished. In his current state, he wouldn’t listen to anything.
Perhaps it’s for the best.
He doesn’t believe me, and saying anything is useless.
At least this incident will make him go to the Civil Affairs Bureau to get the divorce certificate, which is a good thing for me.
