After I Blocked the Matchmaker Customer Service, He Came for Door-to-door Service - Chapter 7
Chapter 7
After the main thread was cut, I was sick for three days.
It wasn’t a fever, and I wasn’t injured.
I was sleepy.
I slept for three days and three nights. When I woke up, the sunlight outside the window was just right.
My mom was sitting by my bed, peeling an apple.
She peeled it very slowly, and the skin broke several times.
In the past, she would have said that when a girl peeled an apple, the skin couldn’t break, or her marriage would be unhappy in the future.
This time, she didn’t say anything.
She cut the apple into small pieces and handed them to me.
“Is it sweet?”
I took a bite.
“Pretty sweet.”
She let out a breath of relief.
“Mr. Xie came by twice.”
I sat up.
“Where is he?”
“Gone.”
My heart felt suddenly hollow.
My mom took a repair order out of the drawer.
“He said the after-sales service was complete, and he had to take it back to his department to file it.”
On the last page of the repair order, the cost section had already changed.
[Source of malfunction to bear: recovery of twenty-three years of illegal gains.]
[User Jiang Mian: no memory loss.]
I stared at that line for a long time.
No memory loss.
So I wouldn’t forget.
I wouldn’t forget the candy from childhood. I wouldn’t forget being sick before the college entrance exam. And I wouldn’t forget Xie Chi holding my hand in the backyard.
But he was gone.
I picked up my phone and sent a message to that customer service number.
[There?]
The system sent an automatic reply.
[This agent has ended service. Please rate this after-sales service.]
Underneath were five stars.
I was so angry I laughed.
[Where is he?]
[This agent has ended service. Please rate this after-sales service.]
I tapped one star.
The system was silent for three seconds.
A new message popped up.
[User dissatisfaction detected. Would you like to request secondary after-sales service?]
My eyes lit up.
[Request.]
[Please describe the issue.]
I typed.
[After-sales personnel failed to say goodbye, affecting the user’s mood.]
The system was silent for even longer.
[This issue does not fall under a romantic fate malfunction.]
I sneered.
[Then what does it fall under?]
A line of small text appeared on the screen.
[Possibly longing.]
My fingers froze.
The next second, the doorbell rang.
My mom went to answer it.
Xie Chi was standing outside the door.
He wasn’t wearing his work badge, and he didn’t have a toolbox in his hand.
He was carrying a bag of tangerines, looking like an ordinary young man.
My mom looked at him, then looked at me.
Very tactfully, she said, “I’m going grocery shopping.”
After the door closed, Xie Chi stood in the entryway.
“I received a bad review.”
I leaned against the bedroom doorway.
“One star. Incomplete service attitude.”
“What part was incomplete?”
“You didn’t say goodbye.”
He was silent for a moment.
“Once after-sales service is complete, we’re not allowed to continue disturbing the user.”
“Then why are you here now?”
Xie Chi lifted his eyes to look at me.
“Secondary after-sales service.”
“What are you fixing?”
“Myself.”
He set the tangerines on the table.
“When I went back to file the report, I discovered my Red String was abnormal too.”
My heart skipped a beat.
“Abnormal how?”
The tips of Xie Chi’s ears turned a little red.
“It’s no longer under the system’s jurisdiction.”
“Then whose jurisdiction is it under?”
He looked at me.
“Possibly yours.”
