Chapter 7
Jay chuckled, pocketed the bead, and somehow produced a small silver flask, then leapt onto the rooftop.
I drifted after him.
Under the moonlight, his face was strikingly handsome, with a hint of mischief.
“Do you usually absorb moonlight to cultivate?”
I nodded, feeling a bit proud:
“That’s why, even though I’m a ghost, my ghostly aura is pure.”
“And among ghosts, I’m considered quite powerful; my four hundred years of cultivation can rival a thousand years of other ghosts.”
Jay’s eyes curved with amusement: “A dragon among ghosts.”
“Do you really remember nothing from your past life?”
“No, and it’s better that way. I don’t want to be like other ghosts, trapped by past life’s hatred and grievances, unable to be free.”
I answered casually.
Jay’s aura suddenly became tense, and after a long silence, he turned to look at me.
“…Is that so.”
It was a long gaze, as if his dark eyes carried a sorrow waiting for a thousand years.
But at the time, I was oblivious, only feeling uneasy from the prolonged silence.
“Isn’t it?”
Eventually, Jay broke the silence,
“Heh, so do you want to dual cultivate with me?”
Me: ??
Jay: “You’ve been following me for so long, haven’t you taken a liking to me?”
My ghostly face seemed to heat up: “Nonsense!”
Jay laughed heartily and took a sip of wine, his eyes shimmering with silent allure:
“Dual cultivating with me, you could become a Ghost King, you won’t lose out.”
Is this about losing or not!
I floated down from the rooftop in anger.
Moments later, I awkwardly floated back up:
“Um… how do a ghost and a human, you know, dual cultivate?”
