A True Heroine Needs No Man - Chapter 9
I left the room and found the nurse’s station.
“If the patient in room three needs anything, you can call my number.”
I wrote my number down on a piece of paper.
The nurse looked at me, surprised.
“The other number on her file might not always be answered, but if you call mine, I will always pick up.”
Shang Luzhou had already made sure his information was listed as the primary contact.
But I knew he always put Su Wanyin last.
So many unanswered calls, so many unread messages.
In the novel, this plotline branched into multiple angsty scenarios: Su Wanyin is hospitalized while Shang Luzhou is with Shen Fu.
If I didn’t know, it would be one thing. But I did know, and I couldn’t just stand by and do nothing.
I smiled at the nurse.
“Thank you for your trouble. I’m sorry to make your job harder. I’ll write you a commendation letter later.”
The nurse smiled back, her voice sweet. “Well, thank you.”
