A Strange Transmigration Novel - Chapter 11
Chapter 11
Returning to Hangzhou with Shi Xu once again, I was invited to participate in an event hosted by my platform.
The event mostly consisted of doing a lap on stage and then engaging in some pointless social networking with other influencers.
Before the event started, I watched as a familiar-looking beauty blogger next to me whipped out a tripod and started shouting, “Hey, fam!”
Every beauty who comes to Hangzhou has to livestream to provide ‘benefits’ for their ‘fam.’
It’s a wonderful city; it made my hand reach for my own tripod.
When in Rome, do as the Romans do. I streamed for half an hour.
After I ended the stream, the System told me that it was time for the plot point where I meet the legendary White Moonlight.
I decided to settle an old score with it. “Why didn’t you tell me earlier that she was his cousin?”
It replied flatly, “If the male and female leads actually used their mouths to communicate, would it still be called an angst novel?”
I wanted to punch it, but it didn’t have a physical form.
Shi Xu’s cousin had also come to the venue today.
She was still wearing a pale yellow dress with fluffy hair, radiating an aura that was a mix of high-intellect and utter lunacy.
She handed me a bouquet of lily of the valley and said with a beaming smile, “I’ve been a fan of yours for several years.”
At the thought of the ‘painful’ CEO-stand-in literature I posted when I first started, I broke into a cold sweat, my toes curling in embarrassment.
Shi Xu’s cousin was a chatterbox.
She pulled me over to sit in the front row and started rambling.
She said that while Shi Xu’s IQ was maxed out, he hadn’t received a single point in EQ.
His way of liking someone was to inexplicably make them his “Follower.”
She mimicked the tone of others, dripping with sarcasm. “In their circles, there’s no such thing as a ‘girlfriend,’ only a ‘Follower.’ A bunch of eunuchs without ‘Followers’ of their own.”
I muttered, “Keep your voice down. Is that something to be proud of?”
She laughed loudly. “You’re so interesting!”
I replied, “Correct, pertinent, and objective.”
The event didn’t end until very late, and Shi Xu made a point of picking me up to take me back to the hotel.
He was performing well; I secretly gave him one point in my head.
At the hotel entrance.
I burst through the door!
I burst through the door a second time!
After trying three times, I realized it was a revolving door.
I walked in as if nothing had happened.
Shi Xu pressed his lips together, trying not to laugh.
I fell into deep thought.
I was just playing into a meme.
Everything was under control.
However, I wasn’t sure if Shi Xu could understand my abstract sense of humor.
I was afraid he really thought I was an idiot.
After thinking about it, I updated my Moments, which had been dead for a year.
[Bursting through the door! Bursting through the door! Bursting through the door! Bursting through the door! Bursting through the door! After trying 99 times, I realized it was a revolving door.]
Once a meme is explained, it stops being funny.
Shi Xu commented: [It’s okay. Being a bit silly is also very cute.]
Me: “…”
Dammit.
