Chapter 12
Chapter 12
I glanced at the quartz clock on the wall; it was already one in the morning.
“This has dragged on long enough, and I’m tired.”
I let out a yawn and started walking toward the door. “I’m going out right now to wake up the neighbors and let everyone enjoy the show. Then, I’m heading to the police station to report this. Either Shen Jincheng goes to prison for raping a student, or you both lose your reputations, your jobs, and your education. Take your pick.”
Shen Jincheng rushed over to block my path. “Chunyan, we’ve been husband and wife all this time. Are you really going to be this ruthless? You won’t leave us any room at all?”
I looked him dead in the eye. “Did you leave me any room when you were committing adultery with that little bitch in my marriage bed?”
Shen Jincheng struggled to restrain himself, staring at me for a long time as he thought. “You want a divorce and the admission letter. If you get those two things, you’ll let this go, right?”
I nodded with a smile.
Shen Jincheng turned to Bai Hezhi. “Go get the admission letter.”
Bai Hezhi shook her head like a rattle. “No! University is everything to me!”
Shen Jincheng walked over and wrapped his arms around the girl, coaxing her helplessly. “But if you don’t do it, Xu Chunyan is going to destroy us. You can always retake the exams next year or the year after. As long as I’m by your side, what are you afraid of?”
Bai Hezhi hesitated for a long time until, finally, a single tear splashed down and she nodded.
She pulled the admission letter out of her luggage bag, clutching it tightly, unwilling to hand it over.
I snatched it away and pulled a box of matches from my pocket.
Right in front of Bai Hezhi, I set the admission letter on fire.
Bai Hezhi let out a scream and tried to grab the flaming paper with her bare hands, sobbing in agony.
I raised my hand and delivered a sharp slap to her face.
Bai Hezhi glared at me, panting heavily. “You… you…”
I sneered. “Don’t look at me like that. Everyone has to pay the price for the sins they commit.”
“Xiao Bai, you’ve lost your education, but you’ve gained a man who truly loves you. It’s a fair trade.”
With that, I packed a few of my things and left the cage that had trapped me.
As I stepped over the threshold, I didn’t look back. I simply threw a final sentence at Shen Jincheng: “We’re finalizing the divorce first thing tomorrow morning. If you try any tricks, I’ll make sure you both spend the rest of your lives in hell.”
