99% Match, But He Smells Like My Ex-Boss - Chapter 4
Chapter 4
No one spoke in the meeting room. I couldn’t speak either.
Lu Zhiheng. Shen Yanci. My former boss. The 99% match. These three identities crashed together in my mind.
I stared at him.
“Did you get plastic surgery?”
Han Che nearly choked on his water.
Lu Zhiheng was silent for a second. “No.”
“Then why did you change your name?”
“Family surname.”
“And your face?”
“I lost weight after an illness.”
I sneered.
“President Lu lost so much weight that even your ID card name changed?”
He looked at me. “I’ll explain later.”
“I don’t want to hear it.”
“Then listen to their explanation first.”
He turned to Han Che.
“I have restored the underlying logs of the Yunqi Incident from two years ago.”
Han Che’s expression changed drastically. “Impossible.”
Lu Zhiheng said lightly, “You didn’t delete it cleanly.”
The lawyer turned on the projector.
A string of operation records appeared on the screen.
The night before the incident, someone had indeed used my account to modify the permission policy.
But the login device was not my computer. It was the backup machine in Han Che’s office.
Login time, 11:47 PM.
Where was I at that time? I was in the infirmary.
Because my heat period had come early, Lu Zhiheng personally sent me there.
But two years ago, during the company’s internal investigation, this infirmary record had disappeared.
Han Che’s voice was tight. “This is just an equipment error.”
Lu Zhiheng continued to play the next clip.
It was a surveillance video.
In the footage, Han Che pushed open the office door and sat down at the backup machine.
He entered my employee ID password.
I went cold all over.
How could he have my password?
Han Che suddenly looked at me.
“Song Zhi, don’t play innocent. You gave me the password yourself.”
I froze.
“When did I ever give it to you?”
Han Che smiled faintly.
“That night in the closed project team, you were in heat and delirious. You said that if President Lu asked, I should handle the launch permissions for you.”
I slowly clenched my fingers.
“You’re lying.”
Lu Zhiheng’s voice turned cold.
“She was in the infirmary all night that night.”
Han Che looked at him.
“President Lu, isn’t it a bit late to protect her now?”
“Back then, the one who fired her was you.”
Those words were like a slap to my face.
I looked at Lu Zhiheng.
He didn’t flinch.
He said, “It was me.”
I asked, “Why?”
He was silent.
But Han Che laughed.
“Why else? Song Zhi, your heat period collided with President Lu’s susceptible period that year, and you almost turned the project team into an accident scene.”
“To protect his own reputation, President Lu naturally had to drive you away.”
The fir scent suddenly intensified.
Lu Zhiheng pressed his hand on the edge of the table, his gaze terrifyingly cold.
“Han Che.”
“Do you want to die?”
