chapter 2
Chapter 2
I was ready to head back the way I came.
The first enclosure I had to pass through on the way was the Python Garden.
Huge snakes were coiled behind the glass walls.
I reached into my bag, put on my sunglasses, and swaggered past.
Bullet comments: [Huh? You can do that?]
[Streamer, be careful! Look behind you!]
[Ah! Ah! Ah! Ah! What is that thing!]
I turned around.
On a tree behind me, the Monkey I had just exhausted to death was up and moving again.
It crawled along the tree on all fours, moving in the shadows, letting out loud howls.
Bought a resurrection armor?
Really a lingering Soul.
Shan Yuan explained, “It just took a trip to Yama’s Hall, but since its name wasn’t in the Book of Life and Death, it was sent back.”
I started running, asking as I ran, “So what should I do in this situation?”
He said, “My advice is to run faster than it.”
Me: “?”
The Monkey was chasing me, and I was running.
Leaping and dodging, running in a panic.
When I was exhausted, I stopped to catch my breath.
I couldn’t keep going like this.
I quickly changed the description of my livestream room: [Zero-experience travel streamer, fighting ghosts live.]
Because it involved feudal superstitions, the review didn’t pass.
Me: “Damn it…”
With lightning-fast fingers, I opened the Qingtian Temple Mini Program for Talismans.
Sold out.
In the livestream, everyone was saying:
[What is this? Talisman, buy one.]
[Home alone, scared, buying a Talisman.]
Could you at least leave one for me?
Shan Yuan: “If you like this Talisman, type 6 in the chat. If enough people want it, I’ll have my Junior Brother restock.”
Do you even care about my life?
Junior Brother leaned over, “If you can’t wait, you can send a gift, and I’ll draw one for you live.”
I sent gifts.
I sent five hundred yuan in one go.
Shan Yuan picked up his brush, dipped it in Cinnabar, and began drawing the Talisman. When he finished, he held the Talisman up to the camera.
“Show it to the Monkey,” he sighed. “This one is drawn perfectly.”
I turned my screen brightness to max and aimed it at the Monkey.
It froze in place and started to smoke.
I took the chance to escape.
The next enclosure I passed was the Parrot enclosure.
A row of chatty Parrots perched on the treetops, talking to me:
“The couple you ship is fake.”
“The day before my wedding, I discovered my fiancé’s secret with my best friend.”
“I am Qin Shi Huang(the First Emperor of China). Actually, I never died. Transfer me 500 yuan for a ticket back to the imperial tomb, and I’ll return with thirty thousand Yin Soldiers and make you a Great General.”
“No egg tarts on Crazy Thursday.”
I ignored them all.
Finally, one Parrot tidied its bloodstained feathers and said:
“There’s no signal in the enclosure. The one you’re connected to isn’t among the living.”
I wanted nothing more than to shut its beak.
Why is it so bad at talking?
In this unfamiliar place, I still had to rely on Shan Yuan to survive.
I stopped in front of it and shouted angrily:
“Stop trying to sow discord. Everyone in my livestream is like a parent reborn to me.”
Parrot: “?”
Parrot: “Pfft, simp.”
[Haha… haha… hahaha… A mere Parrot trying to stir up trouble.]
[Boohoo… this touching sense of trust.]
[I’ve followed the streamer for three years, never picked the wrong person.]
[Fake fan, the streamer only started two years ago.]
The atmosphere in the livestream made me feel a little more at ease.
I ignored the Parrot squawking behind me and kept walking forward.
