Chapter 5
Her eyes were almost within touching distance.
Even though I knew nothing could be seen from the outside looking in, under her seemingly piercing gaze, I froze completely.
A low, husky murmur with a hint of a smile suddenly came from behind me:
“My dear, are you this… tense?”
The canine tooth embedded in the skin of my nape withdrew.
The sharp sting was only just becoming distinct when it was covered by a warm, wet sensation.
His slightly rapid breaths fanned the back of my neck.
“If you’re so afraid of people knowing, why did you come to provoke me in the first place?”
“How about… I roll down the car window and tell them to get lost, okay?”
This was the first time I vaguely sensed the dormant madness within him.
After a long pause without a response, Chloe Parker’s expression stiffened slightly.
Displeasure flashed across her eyes.
She tugged at Julian Thorne behind her, and he stepped forward in response:
“Mr. Archer, I am Julian Thorne of the Thorne Group.”
“My girlfriend needs your autograph.”
As he said this, his tone carried an undisguised arrogance.
It was as if he was certain that given his status, Leo Archer would not refuse.
After a two-second silence, Leo Archer suddenly let out a cold scoff.
He grabbed his jacket from the side and threw it over my head, covering my face.
Before I could react, he pushed open the car door, his long legs striding out.
Through the jacket, everything outside was invisible.
The world was only blurred light and shadow.
And Leo Archer’s chillingly sarcastic voice:
“Tsk, I don’t know you.”
Julian Thorne said in a deep voice, “What did you say?”
“I said, I don’t know you.”
Leo Archer said, word by word, “What, are you having trouble with your brain? Can’t understand human speech?”
Julian Thorne, who had been pampered and adored by everyone, had never been so publicly humiliated.
Even without seeing his face, I could imagine his current dark and unpleasant expression.
I couldn’t help but curve my lips.
“Ah, that’s…”
Chloe Parker suddenly shrieked,
“Isn’t that a woman’s skirt in the car–”
Before she could finish, Leo Archer interrupted her: “Does it have anything to do with you?”
“Please get lost, okay?”
