Chapter 18
I watched as he unblocked Ye Shiyuan from his blacklist.
Then, in front of me, he made a call to her.
She answered quickly.
To make me believe him, Zhou Boyu put the phone on speaker.
I quietly pressed a certain button on my phone.
It was the shortcut I had set up for recording.
Ye Shiyuan’s voice was filled with surprise: “You finally decided to contact me!”
Zhou Boyu got straight to the point:
“Did you post that on Xiaohongshu?”
“Yes, I did. Did you see it?”
“Are you crazy? What exactly do you want?”
“I… I didn’t mean anything, I just wanted to commemorate it.”
Zhou Boyu grew increasingly impatient:
“Then what’s with the pregnancy?”
“How could you possibly be pregnant? We always…”
He quickly stopped himself, glancing cautiously at me.
I sat back in the seat, my face cold.
The car’s interior was small and quiet.
Their conversation drilled into my ears, every word.
Perhaps the most excruciating part had already erupted.
Now I listened to all of this numbly.
My heart no longer turbulent.
The soft voice on the other end reminded him at just the right moment:
“Did you forget?”
“That night we got married, you yourself took it off halfway…”
Zhou Boyu eagerly interrupted her.
His voice was cold and resolute, leaving no room for argument:
“We had an agreement long ago, you shouldn’t cling.”
“I won’t want this child, go get an abortion.”
The woman’s sobs faintly echoed through the microphone.
“Even though this child is just an accident,”
“But since it’s here, I still want to keep it.”
“I promise I won’t disturb your marriage in the future.”
“If you’re willing, you can have one home with her, and one here.”
Zhou Boyu completely lost his composure, angrily retorting:
“Ye Shiyuan! You’re absolutely insane!”
That feeling of nausea gradually resurfaced in my stomach.
