Chapter 10
He was hit across the face by the sudden slap.
It took him a while to recover.
He slowly turned his head, gently grasping my wrist.
His voice turned hoarse:
“Xixi, did you hurt your hand?”
“I don’t understand what you’re saying.”
“If there’s any misunderstanding, I can explain it to you slowly.”
I chuckled mockingly. A misunderstanding?
It seemed he was determined to keep it from me forever,
As long as I didn’t lay the evidence squarely in front of him.
I suddenly felt a little grateful for this post,
For allowing me to see his true colors before marriage.
I suppressed my surging anger, forcing myself to calm down.
I held my phone up to him.
He saw the post and the wedding photo she captioned.
After a quick glance, a flicker of panic crossed his eyes.
“Zhou Boyu, is this what you call a misunderstanding?”
He quickly suppressed that trace of panic.
“Xixi, don’t overthink things.”
“I did go to C City for advanced studies.”
“And a girl did confess to me in my first year of college.”
“But the person in this post isn’t me at all.”
“That back does resemble mine somewhat, but there are many people in this world with similar backs.”
“You can’t just convict me based on these coincidences!”
“That’s not fair to me!”
I tugged at the corner of my mouth, a strong sense of weariness washing over me.
I couldn’t wake someone who was pretending to be asleep.
“This isn’t a divorce.”
“I don’t need to present more reliable evidence to contend for property or children with you.”
“I’m unilaterally breaking up, that’s all.”
“Just understand that.”
I didn’t want to argue with him anymore.
I turned and went inside to pack my luggage.
