The Three Realms' Top Restaurant - chapter 11
I didn’t have much hope for that crude beast trap in the first place.
In the Cultivation World, even the rats were probably on the verge of gaining sentience. There was no way they’d be that easy to fool.
So after my first bite of ice cream, I’d already tossed the whole thing out of my mind.
There was no TV in this world. Killing time meant relying on those half-classical, half-vernacular storybooks. But as I read, I suddenly remembered what my actual job here was.
Logically speaking, if you want to save the world, the best method is to get close to the most righteous male and female leads in the original story.
In this novel, the female lead was the pitiful little stand-in from the Tianshan Sword Sect-Yun Hua Fairy.
And the male lead was the most gifted young prince of the Monster Domain, a Flood Dragon who was only half a step away from transforming into a true dragon: Nan Puyue.
In the original plot, after Yun Hua’s Golden Core was dug out, she faked her death and slipped away-only to be caught red-handed by a suspicious, vicious female supporting character. That woman took Yun Hua’s Golden Core and still wasn’t satisfied; she wanted Yun Hua dead for good, to eliminate future trouble.
While fleeing, the female lead stumbled into the borderlands of the Monster Domain by pure accident, and ran into Nan Puyue-who had been set up and nearly murdered by his half-siblings.
One had her Golden Core ripped out and lost all cultivation. The other had his dragon tendons torn out alive and became a cripple.
For a moment, it was hard to say who had it worse.
Nan Puyue needed a means of transportation that posed no threat, and Yun Hua needed strength. They hit it off immediately. Yun Hua borrowed his cultivation to drive off her senior sister, while Nan Puyue’s primordial spirit possessed Yun Hua’s Inner Palace to evade his siblings’ searches.
After that, the two unfortunate souls traveled together, leveling up and fighting monsters. One slowly reconnected her meridians and began cultivating again; the other sought Heavenly Treasures to repair his monster body.
Like every power-fantasy cultivation grind, the male and female leads developed feelings along the way. And after returning to their peaks, one slapped the sect in the face, while the other crushed his siblings and reclaimed the throne.
Up to that point, the plot was normal.
But then the author suddenly lost it just to pad the word count, and shoved in an overpowered villain so absurd he felt like a bug.
Cen Wujiu had power, he had looks, and his identity was even more terrifying: the Annihilation Demon Lord of the Demon Realm.
With a setup like that, readers assumed he’d be some devoted second male lead. Who would’ve thought this guy was basically antisocial-fully devoted to destroying the world, with absolutely no possibility of negotiation.
His hatred for the leads came out of nowhere. Everything he did was aimed at getting Yun Hua and Nan Puyue killed, with zero logic to it.
No one knew whether Cen Wujiu wanted to destroy the world because he was desperate to kill the leads, or whether he’d always planned to destroy the world and therefore loathed these two fated obstacles.
Either way, the moment this antisocial chaos-loving freak got unhappy, he directly kicked off a war across the Three Realms.
Nan Puyue and Yun Hua naturally took a side. The Immortal and Monster Realms joined forces.
On the Demon Realm side, the Innate Demon Race despised humans and originally had no intention of working for Cen Wujiu.
So they died on the spot.
Cen Wujiu smiled as he announced, “Either you go and slaughter every last cultivator for this Venerable One, or I’ll slaughter every last one of you first-and then I’ll personally go kill that bunch of cultivators.”
With a boss like a walking execution order hanging over their heads, the Demon Race fought one against ten, and their strength actually ended up barely matching the combined forces of the other two realms.
The Three Realms slaughtered each other until their eyes were red. The vortex of war grew larger and larger, dragging the entire world into it, until everything was destroyed in this meaningless conflict.
In the last part of the original story I read, Nan Puyue-already transformed into a true dragon-comprehended the Heavenly Dao (the supreme laws of the universe and the ultimate principle governing all existence) and offered himself as a sacrifice to the sword, merging with Yun Hua’s Lifebound Sword, Shimmering Light, and turning it into the one and only Divine Sword in the world.
Yun Hua held the Divine Sword and faced Cen Wujiu, who controlled the fate of all things.
With a single swing, the Divine Sword severed the Fate Tracks he manipulated with power that surpassed this world-and killed that mysterious final villain.
But because Yun Hua, with a mortal body, had recklessly moved divine power, she began to shatter inch by inch starting from the hand gripping the sword, until she ultimately turned to dust and completely dissipated.
The male and female leads and the final villain all died.
The author left only one line-everything was over-and then hid behind the shield and ran.
Of course an ending like that makes you furious.
What made me even angrier was getting dragged into a botched ending, and then being told-
“The worldline has a bug. After the ending, this world was destroyed for unknown reasons. Figure out a way to save it.”
Ha. Ha.
Do I look like Pleasant Goat or something?
No matter how many circles I jumped around in private, I couldn’t come up with a single useful plan.
I’m an otaku, not an idiot. Of course I don’t believe that shouting “friendship” or “bonds” is going to defeat the villain.
The only thing I can do is probably to lay low somewhere safer-avoid the villain and avoid the male and female leads.
As long as I don’t get dragged into the main plot, and I run fast enough, maybe I can keep my head down until the very last moment.
And as for the day when there’s nowhere left to hide…
Before I die, I will absolutely do everything I can to file a complaint against that human-trafficker System that kidnapped me!
