The Path of Revenge After Rebirth - Chapter 10
Back at school, I began to openly bully Lin Jiu.
I poured ink into her drawer, and laughed loudly when she recited texts in accented English.
I tore up her physics exam paper, scattering the pieces over her head.
“Go on, go complain again.”
I smiled and said, “Isn’t that what you’re best at?”
A scrap of paper drifted down from her hair, swaying as it fell.
She looked at me, a flash of deep-seated hatred passing through her eyes.
But in the end, she still trembled, crying as she apologized to me:
“I’m sorry, I’m sorry, if there’s anything I’ve done to make you unhappy, I’m apologizing now, I’ll change, alright?”
“You being alive makes me unhappy.”
I raised my brows in mock curiosity. “So how are you going to change? Are you going to die right now?”
She was dumbstruck, unable to utter a single word.
In the end, all she could do was keep crying.
For the first time, I realized how exhilarating it was to be the villainess.
Of course, she reported it to the teacher.
The teacher called me to the office.
I cried as I recounted what had happened at the birthday banquet, and finally took out a hospital diagnosis:
“Isn’t it because she spread rumors? My brother humiliated me in front of so many people. Every time I think about it, I cry, and even in my sleep I wake up from nightmares.”
“I’m still seeing a therapist and taking medication. The doctor says I’m already severely depressed.”
In the end, the teacher had to comfort me instead.
Everyone could see that I didn’t like Lin Jiu.
Su Lan was confused: “Why are you so fixated on her? Did she ever do anything bad?”
I tilted my head back and smiled at her:
“Can’t it just be that I’m a bad woman, using my family’s money to look down on a poor new student?”
“Cut it out.”
She rolled her eyes at me.
“If you were that kind of person, why don’t you bully me? My family is even poorer than hers.”
“On our very first day as friends, you bought me all the stationery I’d need for three years of high school. If I’m supposed to believe you’re bullying classmates, I might as well believe I’m Wu Zetian.”
“I get how these things work.”
Yeah.
Everyone gets how these things work.
Except my brother, and the person I like.
I curled my lips, but there was not the slightest hint of a smile in my eyes.
